. The length of a tangent from a point A at distance 5 cm from the centre of the circle is 4 cm. Find the radius of the circle. Answer: Draw the diagram as shown below. Here, AB is the tangent that is drawn on the circle from a point A. So, the radius OB will be perpendicular to AB i.e. OB ⊥ AB We know, OA = 5cm and AB = 4 cm Now, In △ABO, OA2 =AB2+BO2 (Using Pythagoras theorem) 52 = 42+BO2 BO2 = 25-16 BO2 = 9 BO = 3 So, the radius of the given circle i.e. BO is 3 cm. 7. Two concentric circles are of radii 5 cm and 3 cm. Find the length of the chord of the larger circle which touches the smaller circle. Answer: Draw two concentric circles with the center O. Now, draw a chord AB in the larger circle which touches the smaller circle at a point P as shown in the figure below. From the above diagram, AB is tangent to the smaller circle to point P. ∴ OP ⊥ AB Using Pythagoras theorem in triangle OPA, OA2= AP2+OP2 52 = AP2+32 AP2 = 25-9 AP = 4 Now, as OP ⊥ AB, Since the perpendicular from the center of the circle bisects the chord, AP will be equal to PB So, AB = 2AP = 2×4 = 8 cm So, the length of the chord of the larger circle is 8 cm

Advantage He corrected atomic masses of some elements which was assuming wrong and he left 3 gaps and named them as eka boron eka aluminum and eka silicon which were then discovered as scandium galium and germanium respectively. Limitations Position of hydrogen was not set up and many gaps were remained unexplained

Bhuvan Kumar 5 years, 2 months ago

Features:- (i) eight groups (Group 1to 8) and seven periods to accommodate more elements the period 4,5,6,7 are the into two halves. (ii) the properties of element are the periodic function of their atomic mass. Drawbacks and limitations :- (i) postion of isotope - he could not explain it. (ii) postion of hydrogen - hydrogen resemble both alkali and halogen it can be replaced in group 1 and group 2. (iii) seperation of chemically similar elements (iv) grouping of chemically dis similar elements

Globalization is a process of rapid interdependence and interconnectedness amongst the countries of the world. TheMultinational Corporations (MNCs) have played a major role in stimulating and spreading the process ofglobalization. ... The MNCs also link and control the production of goods.

Priya Yadav 5 years, 2 months ago

● MNCs helps to bring together the people of different countries . ● Due to MNCs resource sharing is taking place b/w the different countries. ● MNCs not only help in selling the product of the producer country to the other countries but also helps to encourage the people or traders of the consumer countries to establish their own MNCs like in the case of India many MNCs have been established such as reliance. ● when the traders of foriegn countries lives with the people of a different country then the spread of tradition and culture of that particular country takes place , which is really a great step towards globalisation.

Compared to GDP, the HDI has a greater emphasis on human development. It takes the quality of life into account, not just production capacity of a country. Education and health are considered as important to a country as economic power. GDP is considered a means to human development, but not an end.
