Digestion in mouth: Digestion of food begins in the mouth. Saliva present in mouth contains a digestive enzyme, called salivary amylase, which breaks down starch into sugar. Digestion in stomach: Stomach stores and mixes the food received from the oesophagus with gastric juices. The main components of gastric juice are hydrochloric acid, mucus and pepsinogen. Hydrochloric acid dissolves bits of food and creates an acidic medium. In this medium, pepsinogen is converted to pepsin, which is a protein-digesting enzyme. Mucus protects the inner lining of the stomach from the action of HCl. Digestion in small intestine: Small intestine is the site for complete digestion of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. It produces intestinal juice from the glands present in its wall. The intestinal juice helps in further digestion of food. Small intestine also obtains digestive juices from liver and pancreas that helps in mixing of food. The liver produces bile juice that causes emulsification of fats and the pancreas produces pancreatic juice for digesting proteins and emulsified fats.

Compounds of carbon with double bonds and triple bonds are called as unsaturated compounds while those with carbon-carbon single bonds are called saturated compounds. Alkenes (with —C = C —) and Alkynes (with —C = C—) are hence unsaturated, whereas Alkanes (with — C — C—) are saturated compounds.

Given √3 + √5 To prove: √3 + √5 is an irrational number. Let us assume that√3 + √5 is a rational number. So it can be written in the form a/b √3 + √5 = a/b Here a and b are coprime numbers and b ≠ 0 Solving √3 + √5 = a/b On squaring both sides we get, (√3 + √5)² = (a/b)² √3² + √5² + 2(√5)(√3) = a²/b² 3 + 5 + 2√15 = a²/b² 8 + 2√15 = a²/b² 2√15 = a²/b² – 8 √15 = (a²- 8b²)/2b a, b are integers then (a²-8b²)/2b is a rational number. Then √15 is also a rational number. But this contradicts the fact that √15 is an irrational number. Our assumption is incorrect √3 + √5 is an irrational number. Hence, proved.

3x²+5x+2 3x²+3x+2x+2 3x(x+1) +2(x+1) (X+1)(3x+2) X+1is equal to 0 Then x is equal to -1 Here we can say that alpha is equal to -1 Similarly, If we take 3x +2 Beta is equal to x is eqal to -2/3 1/alpha+ 1/beta 1/-1 +1/-2/3 Is eqal to -5/3
