आग की खोज मनुष्य की सबसे बड़ी आवश्यकता की पूर्ति करती है। वह भोजन पकाने के काम आती है। अतः यदि मनुष्य ने इसे सबसे महत्वपूर्ण खोज माना। आज भी इसका महत्तव सर्वोपरि है। तभी तो हर सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम से पहले दिया जलाया जात है और खेलों में मशाल जलाई जाती है। आज यदि आग न हो तो सभ्यता ताश के महल की भांति भरभरा कर गिर जाएगी। आग की खोज के पीछे भोजन की प्ररेण तो रही ही होगी, साथ ही प्रकाश और गर्मी पाने की प्ररेणा भी रही होगी। रात में आग बहुत काम आई होगी। सर्दियों में तो यह अमृत जैसी सिद्ध होगी। घनघोर ठंडी काली रात में जब आदिमानव आग से गर्मी लेता होगा, काली रात में देख पाया होगा और मांस की भूनकर खा पाया होगा तो उसे कितना आनंद मिला होगा। अतः उसने अग्‍नि को देवता माना होगा और उसे सुरक्षित रखने के उपाय खोजे होंगें।

Though the basic structure of the PRIs is identical across the states of India, it is described via different nomenclatures in different states. Panchayats in every state has its own characteristics and even election procedures to these institutions are at variance.

A District Panchayat or Zilla Parishad is co terminus with the district. Each district has one Zilla Parishad.

Similarly Block Panchayats or Panchayat Samitis are co terminus with blocks of the said district.

A Block may have several villages within it, but Gram Panchayats are not necessarily co terminus with each village. Depending on the size of population (as a matter of fact, number of voters) a Gram is defined under the law with a specific geographical area, which may consist of a single village or a cluster of adjoining villages.

In 5 minutes, minute hand will rotate =360°/60°×5=30°..........now area of sector of angle 30°=30°/360°×22/7×14×14=22/12×2×14=11×14/3=154/3cm²....................So the area swept by the minute hand in 5 minutes is 154/3cm².....
