Caste barriers are breaking down in India due to the following reasons :

(i) With the economic development, large scale urbanization, growth of literacy and education, occupational mobility and the weakening of the position of landlords in the villages, the old notions of caste hierarchy are breaking down.

(ii) Due to socio-economic changes, i.e., now, most of the times, in urban areas it does not matter much who is walking along next to us on street or eating at the next table in a restaurant.

(iii) The Constitution of India prohibited any caste-based discrimination and laid the foundations of policies to reserve the injustices of the caste system.

  • Writing Chemical Equations:
  1. In  a  chemical  reaction,  the  reactants  are  written  on the  left  hand  side  and  the  products  on  the  right hand side of the equation.
  2. An arrow (→) pointing towards the products is inserted between the reactants and the products. It also represents the direction of the reaction.
  3. A single arrow (→) indicates the direction in which the reaction proceeds.
  4. A double arrow (⥮) indicates a reversible reaction, i.e. the products recombine to form the reactants.
  5. A plus sign (+) is inserted between two or more reactants or products formed.
  6. If reactions are carried out under specific conditions of temperature, pressure, catalyst etc., then these conditions are mentioned on the arrow.

The  chemical  equation  can  be  made  more  informative  by  mentioning  the  physical  states  of  the reactants and products.

  1. If gas is liberated as a product then it is represented by an arrow pointing upwards (↑).
  2. If the product formed is in the form of a precipitate, it is represented by an arrow pointing downwards (↓).

The impression of an object seen by the eye persists on the retina for 1 /16 th of a second, even after the object is removed. If another object is seen before this time, the impressions of the two merge to give us the sensation of continuity. This property of eye is called persistence of vision.

  2. The radius  of  curvature  (R) of  a  spherical  mirror  is  the  radius  of  the  hollow  sphere  of  glass,  of which the spherical mirror is a part.
  3. The pole (P) of a spherical mirror is the centre of the mirror.
  4. The principal axis of a spherical mirror is a straight line passing through the centre of curvature C and pole P of the spherical mirror.
  5. The principal focus (F) of a concave mirror is a point on the principal axis at which the rays of light incident on the mirror, in a direction parallel to the principal axis, actually meet after reflection from the mirror.
  6. The principal focus (F) of a convex mirror is a point on the principal axis from which the rays of light  incident  on  the  mirror, in  a  direction  parallel  to  the  principal  axis, appear  to  diverge  after reflection from the mirror.
  7. The focal length (f) of a mirror is the distance between its pole (P) and principal focus (F).

Planets are much closer to the earth, and are thus seen as extended sources.?

Lenalraj Injeti 5 years, 11 months ago

Planets, just like the Sun, do not twinkle. ... Due to the planets' closeness to Earth, the light coming from these celestial bodies does not bend much due to Earth's atmosphere. Therefore, the light coming from our solar system's planets does not appear to twinkle like stars.

In circuits using metallic wires, electrons constitute the flow of charges. However, electrons were not known at the time when the phenomenon of electricity was first observed. So, electric current was considered to be the flow of positive charges and the direction of flow of positive charges was taken to be the direction of electric current. The conventional direction of electric current is the one in which positive charges move orderly.
