In 1834, a customs union or zollverein was formed at the initiative of Prussia. It was joined by most of the German States.
The aim of zollverein was to bind the Germans economically into a nation. The Union abolished the tariff barriers and reduced the number of currencies from over thirty to only two.
It helped to awaken and raise national sentiment through a fusion of individual and provincial interests. The German people realised that a free economic system was the only means to engender national feeling.

The role of human resource development is very important in the area of developing a business, this helps to improve the quality of the workers that are involved in the business. It involves developing the learning, knowledge skills and ability of the worker.
It increases the inter-personal relationship between an organization and its employees. Any organization that develops comfortability among the employees will see an increase in their profit phase and development.

Different persons can have different developmental goals.

The status of people are different. One may be poor and one may be rich.

The life situations are also different.
Some may live in urban areas and some in rural areas.

So, they wish for some developments which are most important for them.

Tricki was a dachshund dog who had been pampered to such an extent that overfeeding, luxuries, and facilities became the cause of his illness. He became so fat that he could not walk properly. The narrator, who was a vet, lived in Mrs. Pumphrey’s neighborhood; he saw Tricki’s condition deteriorate regularly. He suggested to Mrs. Pumphrey to follow strict regimen for Tricki, but Mrs. Pumphrey did not pay much attention to it.  

One day Tricki stopped eating even his favorite dishes. He just lay listlessly on the floor.  The narrator was called; he suggested Tricki needed hospitalization. Actually he had a special plan for him to make him well.  

At his hospital, he kept Tricki on strict diet. He gave him plenty of water to drink. In the company of other dogs, Tricki began moving and playing with them. Within a few days Tricki improved. The narrator did not give any food and wine to Tricki that Mrs. Pumphrey sent everyday for him.

After a fortnight Tricki became normal and healthy and Mrs. Pumphrey thought the narrator had done some surgery on Tricki.

The federal system thus has dual objectives: to safeguard and promote unity of the country, while at the same time accommodate regional diversity. Therefore, two aspects are crucial for the institutions and practice of federalism. 

Governments at different levels should agree to some rules of power sharing. They should also trust that each would abide by its part of the agreement. An ideal federal system has both aspects : mutual trust and agreement to live together.

It means a belief that the majority community should be able to rule a country in whichever way it wants, by disregarding the wishes and needs of the minority, e.g., Sri Lanka opted for majoritarianism in which majority Sinhalas rule the country.

There is a need for conservation of resources for sustainable development. Balancing the need to use resources and also conserve them for the future is called 'sustainable development'.
Sustainable development is the process of utilising natural resources for human development without completely depleting them but by sustaining the ability of nature to continue to provide its resources.
Main feature of sustainable development is that the development should not harm environment.

Natural resources, especially those of soil, water, plant and animal diversity, vegetation cover, renewable energy sources, climate, and ecosystem services are fundamental for the structure and function of agricultural systems and for social and environmental sustainability, in support of life on earth.
