  •  The sun is the source of light energy for living things on the Earth. It helps plants to produce their food.
  •  The Sun emits different types of electromagnetic radiation including visible light, ultraviolet light, and infrared radiation.
  •  Ultraviolet rays (UV rays) are electromagnetic radiation which has the wavelength from 10 nm to 400 nm.
  •  They are very harmful rays which lead to wrinkles, skin cancer and other skin-related issues. When the person is exposed to Sunlight for long-term, it damages the genetic material (DNA).
  •  The damaged genetic material leads to uncontrolled cell division in the skin. Thus UV rays cause skin cancer.

The Khilafat Movement was launched by Muhammad Ali and Shaukat Ali. Gandhiji saw this as an opportunity to bring Muslims under the umbrella of a unified national movement. At the Calcutta Session of the Congress in September 1920, he convinced other leaders to start a Non-Cooperation Movement in support of Khilafat Movement.
The Khilafat Movement (1919-1924), was a pan-Islamic, political protest campaign launched by Muslims in British India to influence the British Government and to protect the Ottoman empire during the aftermath of First World War. The First World War had ended with the defeat of Ottoman Turkey.
There was a fear that the power of the spiritual head of the Islamic world (Khalifa) would be curtailed. To defend his power, a Khilafat Committee was formed in Bombay in 1919. The Khilafat leaders put pressure . upon the British Government to give better treatment to Turkey.

Isotopes become challenge for her perodic table

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 7 months ago

  • In Mendeleev’s periodic table, the noble elements were not included in the table as they were not discovered at that time.

In Modern periodic table, the noble elements were placed in group 18 as a last and separated group.

  • In Mendeleev’s periodic table, elements with larger atomic weights were placed before elements with smaller atomic weight without any justified reason.

In modern periodic table, all were arranged systematically with increasing atomic number and weight too.

  • In Mendeleev’s periodic table, some different elements were grouped together while some similar elements were placed in different groups. Ex: alkali metals like Li , Na, K were placed with coinage metals Cu, Ag, Au etc.

In Modern periodic table there was no such confusion, the coinage metals have their own position in d-block and alkali metals are placed in s-block elements.

  • In Mendeleev’s periodic table, the isotopes were placed in different positions.

In Modern periodic table, the isotopes were assigned same position as they have same atomic number.

  • In Mendeleev’s periodic table, elements namely Fe, Co, Ni were placed together in Group VIII.

In Modern periodic table, these elements were placed under d-block elements in different groups.

Let us consider that √5 is a “rational number”.

We were told that the rational numbers will be in the “form” of \frac {p}{q}form Where “p, q” are integers.

So, \sqrt { 5 } = \frac {p}{q}

p = \sqrt { 5 } \times q

we know that 'p' is a “rational number”. So 5 \times q should be normal as it is equal to p

But it did not happens with √5 because it is “not an integer”

Therefore, p ≠ √5q

This denies that √5 is an “irrational number”

So, our consideration is false and √5 is an “irrational number”.

Ankit Singh Thakur 5 years, 7 months ago

Let us assume√5 is irrational number. So, √5 is in the form of p/q where p and q are some Integers where q≠0. Since , We divide numerator and denominator by common factor to get a and b where a and b are co -prime. So , √5=a/b √5b = a Squaring both side, (√5b)^2 =a^2
