“Centre-State relations” of Indian Federalism constitute the core of federalism and they are regulated by the provisions of the Constitution. (i) The division of powers between the Union and the States, as given in the Indian Constitution has a strong bias in favour of the Centre. The Constitution of India provides a dual polity with a clear division of powers between the Union and the States, each being supreme within the sphere allotted to it.

Key Features of Federalism:

  • There are two or more levels (or tiers) of government.
  • Different tiers of government govern the same citizens, but each tier has its own jurisdiction in specific matters of legislation, taxation and administration.
  • The jurisdictions of the respective levels or tiers of government are specified in the constitution.

“Centre-State relations” of Indian Federalism constitute the core of federalism and they are regulated by the provisions of the Constitution.
(i) The division of powers between the Union and the States, as given in the Indian Constitution has a strong bias in favour of the Centre. Various kinds of restrictions are imposed upon the states.
(ii) Administrative relations. The Indian Constitution is based on the principle that the executive power is co-extensive with the Legislative power i.e., Union and state executives can deal with all matters on which legislature legislates.
(iii) In the administrative affairs also the centre acquires control over states through All India Services, Grant-in-Aid etc.
Hence, restructuring of the centre-state relations is one more way in which federalism has been strengthened in practice.

In 1815 the European powers of Britain, Russia, prussia and Austria had collectively defeated Napoleon. Their chief representatives met at Vienna to come to a settlement for Europe. The Congress was hosted by Austrian chancellor Duke Metternich. The delegates grew up the Treaty of Vienna in 1815 with the aim of undoing what Napoleon had transferred in Europe. 1.The Bourbon dynasty was restored to power in France. They were deposed during the French Revolution. France lost its territories which had been annexed under Napoleon. 2. A series of states were carved out on the French frontiers to prevent French expansion in the coming future. Thus , the kingdom of Netherlands which included Belgium was set up in the north and Genoa was added to Piedmont in the south. 3. Prussia was given new territories on its Western Frontiers while Austria was given control of Northern Italy. The German confederation of 39 States was left and it is. 4. In the east, Russia was given a part of Poland why Prussia was given a portion of Saxony. The main aim was to restore the monarchies that were overthrown by Napoleon and re-establish the authority of Conservatives in Europe.

Insulin secreted by pancreas

Meghna Thapar 5 years, 6 months ago

Blood sugar levels are a measure of how effectively the body uses glucose. When blood sugar levels are too low, the pancreas releases glucagon. Glucagon instructs the liver to release stored glucose, which causes blood sugar to rise. Islet cells in the pancreas are responsible for releasing both insulin and glucagon. Insulin helps your body turn blood sugar (glucose) into energy. It also helps your body store it in your muscles, fat cells, and liver to use later, when your body needs it. After you eat, your blood sugar (glucose) rises. This rise in glucose triggers your pancreas to release insulin into the bloodstream.

Let the number of terms required to make the sum of 636 be n and common difference be d.

Given Arithmetic Progression : 9 , 17 , 25 ....

First term = a = 9

Second term = a + d = 17

Common difference = d = a + d - a = 17 - 9 = 8

From the indentities of arithmetic progressions, we know : -
{tex}S_{n}=\dfrac{n}{2}\{2a+(n-1)d\}, where S_{n} {/tex}is the sum of first term to nth term of the AP, a is the first term, d is the common difference and n is the number of terms of AP.

In the given Question, sum of APs is 636.

Therefore,
 ⇒ {tex}636 = \dfrac{n}{2} \{2(9) + (n - 1)8 \} \\ \\ \\ = > 1272 = n(18 + 8n - 8) \\ \\ = > 1272 = 10n + 8n {}^{2} \\ \\ = > 636 = 5n + 4n {}^{2}{/tex}

 ⇒ 4n² + 5n - 636 = 0

 ⇒ 4n² + ( 53 - 48 )n - 636 = 0

 ⇒ 4n² + 53n - 48n - 636 = 0

 ⇒ 4n² - 48n + 53n - 636 = 0

 ⇒ 4n( n - 12 ) + 53( n - 12 ) = 0

 ⇒ ( n - 12 )( 4n + 53 ) = 0

By Zero Product Rule,

 ⇒  n - 12 = 0

 ⇒ n = 12

Hence,
Number of terms of the AP [ 9 , 17 , 25 ] which are required to make the sum of 636 is 12.
