The direction of an electric current is by convention the direction in which a positive charge would move. Thus, the current in the external circuit is directed away from the positive terminal and toward the negative terminal of the battery. Electrons would actually move through the wires in the opposite direction. By convention, current is assumed to travel from positive to negative direction. The electrons travel from negative to positive. The direction of current is not the same as direction of flow of electrons; they are opposite.

Given, AC = 16 cm and BD = 12 cm [let]
∴ AO = 8cm, SO = 6cm
and ∠AOB = 90°
In right angled ∠AOB,

Direct Current:
1) It is derived from a cell or a battery and is uni-directional.
2) The positive and negative terminals are fixed.
3) The voltage v/s time graph is represented by a stariaght line parallel to time axis.
Thus the value of voltage or current remains constant with time
Alternating Current:
1) The current changes its direction after equal intervals of time.
2) It has no fixed terminals as the current reverses its direction after every half cycle.
3) The voltage Vs time graph is generally represented by a sinusoidal curve.

Public sector is an important sector for the development of economy.
(i) There are several things needed by the society as a whole but which the private sector will not provide at a reasonable cost. As huge sum of amount is needed which private sector can not afford, so public sector is needed there. For example, building bridges, railway etc.
(ii) There are several basic activities which government has to support, for example, selling electricity at lower cost, providing driking water at affordable rate etc.
(iii) There are some activities which government has to perform like providing health and education facilities. So public sector is needed.

(i) Common Language: Many states were created on the basis of language to ensure that people who speak the same language lived in the same state.
(ii) Common culture, ethnicity or geography: Some States were created not on the basis of language but to recognise differences based on culture, ethnicity or geography. These include States like Nagaland, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand.
Advantages :
• The experience has shown that the formation of linguistic States has actually made the country, more united. It has also made administration easier.
