The Rat Hunt:
To stop the spread of plague, as rat hunt was started in 1902. Vietnamese workers were hired for the task and were paid for each rat being caught. People began to catch rats in thousands. The payment was done when a tail of a rat was shown as a proof that a rat had been killed. Many people began just clipping the tails and collecting the bounty. Many people even began to raise rat to earn more. This incident showed that at some juncture even the superior power of a colonial master fails and even the weak can assume a very strong bargaining position.

- Measures taken in majoritarianism gradually increased the feeling of alienation among Sri Lankan Tamils.
- They felt that the constitution and government policies denied them equal political rights, discriminated against them in getting jobs and other opportunities and ignored their interests.
- As a result, the relations between Sinhalas and Tamil communities got strained over time.
- The Sri Lankan Tamils launched parties and struggles for the recognition of Tamil as an official language, regional autonomy and equality of opportunities in getting education and jobs.
- By the 1980s, several political organisations were formed demanding an independent Tamil Elam (state) in northern and eastern parts of Sri Lanka.
- The distrust between the two communities turned into widespread conflict. It soon turned into a civil war. As a result, thousands of people of both the communities were killed.

Terms, such as single-use plans, continuing plans, policy, procedure and rule. Planning gives more power over the future. Planning is deciding in advance what to do, how to do it, when to do it, and who should do it. This bridges the gap from where the organization is to where it wants to be. Good conductors are the materials which allow electricity to pass through them easily whereas, bad conductors are the materials which do not allow electricity to pass through them.
Good conductors offer less resistance to the flow of current, whereas the bad conductors do not transmit current through them.
The electrons of the good conductors move freely, whereas the electrons in bad conductors do not move freely. Metals like silver, copper, etc are good conductors, while materials like rubber, glass, wood, etc are bad conductors.
