Ovulation is one part of the female menstrual cycle whereby a mature ovarian follicle (part of the ovary) discharges an egg. In normal healthy female, it takes place on the 14th day of menstrual cycle.
The process by which an ovum is released from the ovary is called ovulation. The ovaries are composed of ovarian follicles and each follicle has an ovum covered by follicle cells. From the age of puberty ovary starts releasing one ovum once a month.

The kidneys are at the back of the abdominal cavity, with one sitting on each side of the spine.
The right kidney is generally slightly smaller and lower than the left, to make space for the liver.
Each kidney weighs 125–170 grams (g) in males and 115–155 g in females.
A tough, fibrous renal capsule surrounds each kidney. Beyond that, two layers of fat serve as protection. The adrenal glands lay on top of the kidneys.
Inside the kidneys are a number of pyramid-shaped lobes. Each consists of an outer renal cortex and an inner renal medulla. Nephrons flow between these sections. These are the urine-producing structures of the kidneys.
Blood enters the kidneys through the renal arteries and leaves through the renal veins. The kidneys are relatively small organs but receive 20–25 percent of the heart’s output.
Each kidney excretes urine through a tube called the ureter that leads to the bladder.
The main role of the kidneys is maintaining homeostasis. This means they manage fluid levels, electrolyte balance, and other factors that keep the internal environment of the body consistent and comfortable.
They serve a wide range of functions.
Waste excretion
The kidneys remove a number of waste products and get rid of them in the urine. Two major compounds that the kidneys remove are:
- urea, which results from the breakdown of proteins
- uric acid from the breakdown of nucleic acids
Reabsorption of nutrients
The kidneys reabsorb nutrients from the blood and transport them to where they would best support health.
They also reabsorb other products to help maintain homeostasis.

On entering into the glass medium light ray bends towards the normal that is light ray gets refracted on entering the glass medium. After getting refracted this ray now travels through the glass slab and comes out of the glass slab by refraction from the other interface boundary. Since ray goes from glass medium to air it again gets refracted and bends away from normal. The incident ray and the emergent ray are parallel to each other.
It is the angle of incidence, r is the angle of refraction and e is the angle of emergence. Angle of incidence and angle of emergence are equal as emergent ray and incident ray are parallel to each other. When a light ray is incident normally to the interface of two media then there is no bending of light ray and it goes straight through the medium.

The villagers were scared by the growling sound of the tiger. Since, people know that the tiger is an innate killer and hunter and it can attack them if it is hungry or angry. Besides, the village was situated in the nearby the forest so he struggled around the village. His long white fangs, stout face, horrific claws, sight of waggling it's tail were enough to terrify the villagers.

This theorem states that an angle bisector divides the opposite side of a triangle into two segments that are proportional to the triangle's other two sides. In the triangle below, that's AB/BD = AC/CD. We then used the theorem to find the missing length in a triangle with an angle bisector. An angle bisector is a line or ray that divides an angle into two congruent angles . ... Some textbooks call this Angle Bisector Theorem , but this name is usually used for another theorem about angle bisectors in a triangle. Example : In the figure, →BD is an angle bisector.

Question : If the zeros of the polynomial ax²+bx+b=0 are in the ratio m:n then find the value of √(m/n)+√(n/m) .
Answer :

OR
let the zeros of the given polynomial ax^2+bx+c be m"alpha" and n"alpha"
m "alpha " + n"alpha" = -b/a
=>"alpha"= -b/a(m+n)------------------(i)
and similarly product of zeros
=> mn"alpha^2"=b/a-------------(ii)
Now,
Putting the value of equation (i) in equation (ii)
You would get the desired answer which is
root m/ root n +root n/root m
=>root b/a

Growth movement of the shoot in plants in response to a light stimulus is called phototropism. this movement is caused due to more growth of cells towards the shaded side of the shoot as compared to the side of shoot towards the light.
This happens as follows:
(i) When sunlight falls straight on the plant, the auxin hormone synthesized at the tip of the stem spreads uniformly down the stem and due to an equal concentration of auxin, shoot grows straight.
(ii) When sunlight falls on only one side of the plant, the auxin diffuses toward the shady side of the shoot. The concentration of auxin stimulates the cells to grow longer. Therefore, the stem appears to bend towards the source of light.
To demonstrate it we will place a potted plant in a box in which light. comes from only one direction. in a few days, we will observe that the shoot has moved towards the side from which light came in the box.

An acid gets its characteristics from the hydrogen atoms of its molecules. Strong acids have weakly bound hydrogen atoms, and the molecules easily separate from them in solution. How many of these hydrogen atoms dissociate and form hydrogen ions determines the strength of an acid. Weak acids exist mostly as molecules with only a few ions in solution, therefore the bonds holding H and A together must be strong. Weak acids do not readily break apart as ions but remain bonded together as molecules.

heart is a muscle that depends on oxygen being delivered to it via the lungs in order to even function. No oxygen and the heart stops beating.
Conversely, the lungs can only oxygenate the blood if the heart pumps blood through them. As you can tell, both are important for survival. Not only do both organ systems help one another in their overlapping functions, but so, too, do they sometimes end up hurting one another if one of them gets sick.

Respiratory system in human beings:
The respiratory system in human beings consists of the nose, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi and lungs.
- Air is taken in through the nostrils.
- Nostrils further continue into the nasal cavity.
- There is a bony plate called the palate, which separates the oral cavity from the nasal cavity.
- Nasal cavity opens into the pharynx.
- The pharynx is a muscular chamber acting as a common passage for the windpipe or trachea and the food pipe or oesophagus.
- It is connected to the larynx through a slit-like opening called the glottis.
- The larynx connects the pharynx to the trachea.
- The trachea shows the presence of cartilaginous rings.
- The cartilaginous rings provide flexibility thus, facilitating continuous air flow.
- The inner wall of the trachea is lined by a mucous membrane consisting of ciliated columnar epithelium.
- The trachea divides into two branches or tubes called bronchi, one of which enters the right lung and the other enters the left lung.
- The bronchi have cartilaginous rings for distention.
- Each bronchus divides into fine secondary bronchi. These bronchi further divide into finer tertiary bronchi. In the lungs, each bronchus finally divides into finer and smaller branches called bronchioles.
- The bronchioles further divide to form smaller terminal bronchioles.
- The bronchioles divide repeatedly to form a cluster of tiny air chambers called air sacs or alveoli.
- Alveoli have thin and moist walls which enable gaseous diffusion with blood capillaries.
- The lungs are a pair of spongy and elastic respiratory organs protected by a bony rib cage.
- The base of the lungs rests on the diaphragm.
- Each lung is covered by two membranes. The inner membrane is called the inner or visceral pleura and the outer membrane is called the outer or parietal pleura.
- The diaphragm is a curved, musculo-fibrous sheath which separates the thoracic cavity from the abdominal cavity.
- The diaphragm plays a major role during respiration.
