liberal middle classes from these parts raised demands for national unification and a constitution

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 5 months ago

The Liberal Revolution of 1848 refers to the various social revolutions led by educated middle classes amid the revolts of poor, unemployed and hungry workers and peasants in Europe
In Europe the liberal middle class had made the prime appeal for the creation of nation-states based on democratic/parliamentary values. They wanted constitutionalism politically, with democratic administration and national unity
Socially, they decided to strip society of its birthrights and class related partiality. They needed to eradicate serfdom and slave labor.
Economically they sought business equality and property rights. The elimination of state-imposed limits on goods and capital movements.

1. International: struggle for hegemony and Empire outstrips the fiscal resources of the state 2. Political conflict: conflict between the Monarchy and the nobility over the “reform” of the tax system led to paralysis and bankruptcy. 3. The Enlightenment: impulse for reform intensifies political conflicts; reinforces traditional aristocratic constitutionalism, one variant of which was laid out in Montequieu’s Spirit of the Laws; introduces new notions of good government, the most radical being popular sovereignty, as in Rousseau’s Social Contract [1762]; the attack on the regime and privileged class by the Literary Underground of “Grub Street;” the broadening influence of public opinion. Hope it helps you..??

Stalin’s collectivisation programme:
(i)Stalin forced all peasants to cultivate in collective farms, kolkhoz. The bulk of land and implements were transferred to the ownership of collective farms. Peasants worked on the land, and the kolkhoz profit was shared.
(ii)Enraged peasants resisted the authorities and destroyed their livestock. Between 1929 and 1931, the number of cattle fell by one-third.
(iii)Those who resisted collectivisation were severely punished. Many were deported and exiled.
(iv)As they resisted collectivisation, peasants argued that they were not rich and they were not against socialism. They merely did not want to work in collective farms for a variety of reasons.
(v)Stalin’s government allowed some independent cultivation, but treated such cultivators unsympathetically.

The flow of energy in food chains is unidirectional. The energy which passes to the herbivores does not come back to the autotrophs. The energy that is captured by the autotrophs does not revert back to the Sun. Therefore, in the food chain, the energy moves progressively through various trophic levels. This energy is no longer available to the previous trophic level. Thus, the flow of energy in a food chain is unidirectional.

The pesticides enter a food chain and subsequently get into our body by the following way:

  • Pesticides are sprayed on the crop plants to protect them from the attack of pests. These pesticides when washed away into the soil or water bodies get absorbed by the plants.
  • When plants are consumed as food by man or other animals, the pesticides enter the food chain. Since the pesticides are non-biodegradable, these chemicals get accumulated progressively and enter our body.

A group of cells with similar structure and a specific function are collectively called as tissues.

The human heart is the central part of the circulatory system. This muscular organ functions by pumping blood throughout the body.

The major types of tissues found in the human heart include:

  1. Connective tissue: It binds, connects, supports, and separate tissues or organs from each other.
  2. Epithelial tissue: It forms a protective covering all over the body including the internal organs.
  3. Muscle tissue: Heart is made up of a special type of muscle tissue termed as cardiac tissue. These are involuntary and striated muscles which help the heart to pump the blood throughout life.
  4. Nervous tissue: It controls and coordinates the pumping of the heart.
