In Western and parts of Central Europe industrial production and trade grew. This led to the growth of towns where new commercial classes emerged. The existence of this new class was based on production for the market. New social groups came into existence. A working class population and a middle class (which was composed of industrialists, businessmen and professionals) made the new social groups. It was this class which shaped the ideas of national unity.

A thermal decomposition reaction occurs when the heat is applied to a compound causing it to decompose (break down) into multiple different chemical substances. An example is when baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is heated. 2NaHCO3(s)→CO2(g)+H2O(g)+Na2CO3(s)
Examples of thermal decomposition .
- Many metal carbonates can take part in thermal decomposition reactions. For example, copper carbonate breaks down easily when it is heated:
- copper carbonate → copper oxide + carbon dioxide.
- Copper carbonate is green and copper oxide is black.

Combination reactions are always exothermic. For example barium metal and fluorine gas will combine in a highly exothermic reaction to form the salt barium fluoride: Another example is given by magnesium oxide combining with carbon dioxide: Often, reaction can fall into more than one category. Most of the combination reactions are exothermic but not all the combination reactions are exothermic similarly most of the decomposition reactions are endothermic but not not all the reactions are endothermic. For Example oxidation of hydrocarbons is exothermic.

The least number divisible by all the numbers from 1 to 10 will be the LCM of these numbers.
We have,
1 = 1
2 = 2 × 1
3 = 3 × 1
4 = 2 × 2
5 = 5 × 1
6 = 2 × 3
7 = 7 × 1
8 = 2 × 2 × 2
9 = 3 × 3
10 = 2 × 5
So, LCM of these numbers = 1 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 5 × 7 = 2520
Hence, least number divisible by all the numbers from 1 to 10 is 2520

Key features of federalism:
- There are two or more levels of government.
- Different tiers of government govern the same citizens, but each tier has its own jurisdiction in specific matters of legislation, taxation and administration.
- The jurisdictions are specified in the constitution. So the existence and authority of each tier of government is constitutionally guaranteed.
- The fundamental provisions of the constitution cannot be unilaterally changed by one level of government. Such changes require the consent of both the levels of government.
- Courts have the power to interpret the constitution and the powers of different levels of government.
- Sources of revenue for each level of government are clearly specified to ensure its financial autonomy.
- The federal system thus has dual objectives;
- To safeguard and
- Promote unity of the country

Napoleon after establishing monarchy in France destroyed democracy but several measures were introduced by him in the administrative fields by the Napoleonic Code of 1804. It aimed at making the administrative system more efficient and rational. These were:
- The Napoleonic Code abolished all privileges based on birth and established the principles of equality before law and secured the right to property.
- Napoleon simplified administrative divisions, abolished the feudal system and freed peasants from serfdom and manorial dues.
- In the towns too, guild restrictions were removed. Peasants, artisans and workers began to enjoy their freedom.
- Transport and communication systems were improved.
- Businessmen and small-scale producers realised the importance of having uniform laws, standardised weights and measures in the movement and exchange of goods from one region to another.
