In modern democracies, power sharing can take many forms, as mentioned below:

  1. Power is shared among different organs of government, such as the legislature, executive and judiciary. This is called horizontal distribution of power because it allows different organs of government placed at the same level to exercise different powers. Such separation ensures that none of the organs can exercise unlimited power. Each organ checks the others. This arrangement is called a system of checks and balances.
  2. Power can be shared among governments at different levels – a general government for the entire country and governments at the provincial or regional level which is called federal government.
  3. Power may also be shared among different social groups such as the religious and linguistic groups. ‘Community government’ in Belgium is a good example of this arrangement. This method is used to give minority communities a fair share in power.
  4. Power sharing arrangements can also be seen in the way political parties, pressure groups and movements control or influence those in power. When two or more parties form an alliance to contest elections and if they get elected, they form a coalition government and thus share power.

Margie is 11 years old and Tommy is 13 years old.

Margie is the main character of the story. She is a girl of 11 years of age. She writes a diary on the night of 17th May 2157. (Right now, we are living in 2018. As told earlier, the story is set in the future and it is set in the year 2157, so almost one and a half century that is 140 years from now). At that time, Margie writes an entry in her diary and she writes that ‘Tommy found a real book’ and she is feeling so strange because in her times, real books do not exist. They only have e-books, the virtual books. So, books in the format of print on paper are extinct and so, Margie is astonished to see a real book.

To Find :

  • A quadratic polynomial

Solution :

⇒ x = 7 and x = 5

So,

⇒ ( x - 7 ) ( x - 5 )

⇒ x² - 5x - 7x + 35

⇒ x² - 12x + 35

x² - 12x + 35 is the quadratic polynomial whose zeroes are 7 and 5

Infinite

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 4 months ago

An Irrational Number is a real number that cannot be written as a simple fraction . Example: π (Pi) is a famous irrational number. We cannot write down a simple fraction that equals Pi. The popular approximation of 22/7 = 3.1428571428571 ... is close but not accurate. Another clue is that the decimal goes on forever without repeating.

Irrational numbers between 2 and 3

Square of 2 is 4

Square of 3 is 9

Square root of 5,6,7,8 will be irrational number between 2 and 3 since these numbers are not perfect square .

The story “Black Aeroplane” is about a pilot who feels happy and contended to fly over a city that is sleeping (at the night time). He is flying from Paris to London. While taking his flight, he dreams about the long holiday with his family. He also fantasizes about the scrumptious breakfast he would have upon landing. As soon as he crosses Paris, he gets a look of the dark clouds that were a sign of the upcoming storm. The right decision would have been to turn back to Paris for the sake of safety. But he being overshadowed by his dreams and not wanting to delay them, risks the life of his passengers and heads straight into the storm. Everything gets dark, he is unable to see, all his direction instruments stopped functioning and he lost control of the plane. When all hope was lost, he saw another plane whose pilot was more than willing to rescue them. The author was panicking as there was very less amount of fuel left. The anonymous pilot guided them out of the storm and disappeared as soon as they saw light.  Upon landing, when he asks the lady in the control room about the other pilot, he is left in shock when she says that his was the only plane in the sky.

Dust of Snow’ is a beautiful short poem written by Robert Frost. This poem tells that even a simple moment has a large significance. The poet has mentioned crow and hemlock tree in this poem. Crow signifies his depressive and sorrowful mood and hemlock tree is a poisonous tree. Both these signify that the poet was not in a good mood and so he describes the dark, depressive and bitter side of nature to present his similar mood.

The poet says that once he was in a sad, depressive mood and was sitting under a hemlock tree. A crow, sitting on the same tree, shook off the dust of snow i.e., small particles of snow that remain on the surface after the snowfall, on the poet. This simple action changed the poet’s mood. He realized that he had just wasted a part of his day repenting and being lost in sorrow. But the change in his mood made him realize that he should utilize the rest of the day in some useful activity. His sorrow was washed away by the light shower of snow dust. His spirit was revived and he got ready to utilize the rest of the day.

let,

5 - 2√3 be a rational number.

.°. 5 - 2√3 = p/q [ where p and q are integer , q ≠ 0 and q and p are co- prime number ]

=> - 2√3 = p/q -5

=>- 2√3 = p - 5q / q

=> √3 = p - 5q / - 2q

we know that p/q is a rational number.

.°. √3 is also a rational number.

This contradicts our assumption

5 - 2√3 is an irrational number

hence 11th term from the last is -32

Many, but not all, fish kills in the summer result from low concentrations of dissolved oxygen in the water. Fish, like all other complex life forms, need oxygen to survive. They get theirs in the form of oxygen gas dissolved in the water. That's why it's important to have an aeration device, a bubbler, in your home aquarium.

Warm water holds less dissolved oxygen than cold water, so summer is the time when fish can have a hard time getting enough oxygen. Other organisms use oxygen, too, including the algae that grow in the summer and bacteria that degrade organic matter. During the day, the algae produce oxygen through photosynthesis, but at night, when photosynthesis stops, they and other organisms keep respiring, using up oxygen.

Let the unit digit and tens digits of the number be x and y

Number = 10y + x

Number after reversing the digits = 10x + y

According to the question,

⇒  x + y = 9 ... (i)

⇒  9(10y + x) = 2(10x + y)

⇒  88y - 11x = 0

⇒ -x + 8y =0 ... (ii)

Adding equation (i) and (ii), we get

⇒  9y = 9

⇒  y = 1 ... (iii)

Putting the value in equation (i), we get

⇒  x = 8

Hence, the number is 10y + x = 10 × 1 + 8 = 18.
