We have given that
Sum of the first n terms = 4n – n2
⇒ Sn = 4n – n2
Sn –1 = 4(n – 1) – (n – 1)2
= (4n – 4) – (n2 + 1 – 2n)
= 4n – 4 – n2 – 1 + 2n
= 6n – n2 – 5
∴ nth term = Sn – Sn – 1
= (4n – n2) – (6n – n2 – 5)
= 4n – n2 – 6n + n2 + 5
= 5 –2n.

The disadvantages of barter system were Goods were limited, Need for Double Coincidence of wants, Difficulty of Division and Sub - division of Goods, Difficulty in calculating the value of goods, Difficulty in the case of services and Difficulty in Strong Value.
- In barter system the goods were limited. Barter system was lead only to lower level development.
- Barter system was good when needs were limited. Needs of man were increased but the supply of goods were not enough to satisfy man’s needs.
- Needs differentiate from man to man. If either parties get what they need then it is double coincidence. If not it is a trouble as they don’t get what they need.
- In the barter system it is difficult to divide and sub-divide goods.Posibility of exchange his good for only one good not for two or more.
- The value of the goods cannot be distributed equally as there were no measure during that period.
- The exchange of goods worth a service of a person was impossible as it was inconvenient to measure it. Barter sytem cannot exchange goods for services.
- Perishable goods could not saved as wealth for their future expenses. The economy could not contribute anything towards capital formation of the country too.

It means discussion aimed at reaching an agreement.
A negotiation is a strategic discussion that resolves an issue in a way that both parties find acceptable. In a negotiation, each party tries to persuade the other to agree with his or her point of view. By negotiating, all involved parties try to avoid arguing but agree to reach some form of compromise.

The Poona Pact refers to an agreement between B. R. Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi on behalf of depressed classes and caste Hindu leaders on the reservation of electoral seats for the depressed classes in the legislature of British India government. Contrary to popular belief, Mahatma Gandhi was not involved in signing the pact. It was made on 24 September 1932 at Yerwada Central Jail in Pune, India. It was signed by B.R Ambedkar on behalf of the depressed classes and Madan Mohan Malviya on behalf of the Caste Hindus as a means to end the fast that Gandhi was undertaking in jail as a protest against the decision by British prime minister Ramsay MacDonald to give separate electorates to depressed classes for the election of members of provincial legislative assemblies in British India. They finally agreed upon 148 electoral seats.

- On 13th April 1919, the infamous Jallianwala Bagh incident took place.
- On that day, a crowd of villagers who had come to Amritsar to attend a fair gathered in the enclosed ground of Jallianwala Bagh.
- Being from outside the city, they were unaware of the martial law that had been imposed.
- General Dyer entered the area, blocked the only exit point, and opened fire on the crowd, killing and wounding hundreds of people.
- His objective was to ‘produce a moral effect’ to create in the minds of satyagrahis, a feeling of terror and awe.
- As the news spread, crowds took to the streets. There were strikes, clashes with police and attacks on government buildings. The government responded with brutal repression. Seeing violence spread, Mahatma Gandhi called off the movement.

“Ça va?” is short for Comment ça va? or “how is it going” (i.e., what’s up/how are you). It’s the informal (“familiar”) form of Comment allez vous? (literally, how goes you?).
Literal translation of "comment ça va ?" means "how is it going". This is usually asked to inquire about your mood or how you are faring (exactly the same intention when an English speaker asks you "How are you doing X ?")
Response for "Comment ça va" could be "Ça va trés bien (going on good)" in a case when you are faring well. Or "pas mal (not bad)" when you don't feel either sad or happy. And of course "Mal (bad)" when you are not happy or fine.

Social peace and Imperialism : The refrigerated ships reduced shipping cost and lowered meat prices in Europe. The poor in Europe could now consume a more varied diet. Better living conditions promoted social peace within the country and support for Imperialism abroad.

Pythagoras Theorem
Statement: In a right angled triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of squares of the other two sides.
Given: A right triangle ABC right angled at B.
To prove: AC2 = AB2 + BC2
Construction: Draw BD
AC

Proof :
We know that: If a perpendicular is drawn from the vertex of the right angle of a right triangle to the hypotenuse, then triangles on both sides of the perpendicular are similar to the whole triangle and to each other.
ADB
ABC
So,
(Sides are proportional)
Or, AD.AC = AB2 ... (1)
Also,
BDC
ABC
So,
Or, CD. AC = BC2 ... (2)
Adding (1) and (2),
AD. AC + CD. AC = AB2 + BC2
AC (AD + CD) = AB2 + BC2
AC.AC = AB2 + BC2
AC2 = AB2 + BC2
Hence Proved.
