Clay work

  • India since ancient times has been producing clay vessels. The history of clay crafts in India dates back to 6,000BC through remains found at Mehrgarh, on the western bank of the Indus River.
  • Through various archaeological excavations, various remains of clay pottery have been found during the Harappan Civilisation.
  • Painted grey ware (PGW) pottery remains unearthed at several archaeological sites in Punjab and Haryana. It is believed to belong to the Rig Vedic Aryan period.
  • The PGW is a smooth, very fine and coloured variant of pottery. It was made of well-worked, high-quality clay with black geometric patterns on it. Floral patterns and symbols of the Sun can also be seen.
  • Later, Northern Black Polished Ware developed around 400BC. It was a highly lustrous pottery developed during the Mauryan period.

Mrs Pumphrey was a rich woman who doted on her dog Tricki. She pampered him silly and overfeeds him. He gets no exercise, is overfed and overweight. Mrs Pumphrey is representative of women who, for lack of anything better to do, end up doing more harm than good by being over-indulgent... Mrs. Pumphrey was a rich lady who had a small pet dog named Tricki. She was foolishly indulgent and would pamper the dog by giving him chocolates, cakes, juice, eggs and wine. She was ignorant and did not know that the dog needed exercise also. So when he fell sick she was very anxious and thought that something very serious had happened to him. She was silly but tender hearted. She cried bitterly when Tricki was taken to the hospital. She was a simple person and it was easy to please her. She was happy when her pet became alright. She was grateful to Dr. Harriot for making Tricki healthy. She went to the extent of calling it a 'Triumph of Surgery'. So we can say that Mrs. Pumphrey was a rich, foolishly indulgent, ignorant, anxious, silly, tender hearted, simple, easy to please, and a grateful person.

“pH has a great importance in our daily life". This can be explained by the following examples-
(i) Plants and animals are pH sensitive: Living organisms can survive only in narrow range of pH change.

(ii) Tooth decay: Change in pH of our mouth causes tooth decay. Tooth decay start when the pH of mouth is lower than 5.5. Tooth enamel gets corroded when the pH in mouth is below 5.5.

(iii) pH is our digestive system: (HCl) Hydrochloric acid is produced by our stomach that helps in the digestion of food. During digestion, if stomach produces too much acid, it will cause pain and irritation.

(iv) pH of the soil: Plants require a specific pH range for their normal growth.

Washing soda is synthesized through Solvay’s process. Solvay’s process involves the reaction of sodium chloride, ammonia and carbon dioxide in water. Carbon dioxide involved is produced through calcium carbonate and the calcium oxide left is used in recovering ammonia from ammonium chloride. At first, sodium bicarbonate is obtained which is then converted to sodium carbonate on heating. Finally, washing soda is produced by recrystallization of sodium carbonate. NaCl + NH3 + CO2 + H2O → NaHCO3 + NH4Cl 2 NaHCO3 → Na2CO3 + H2O + CO2 Na2CO3 + 10H2O → Na2CO3.10H2O

Washing soda is synthesized by the Solvay process.

The steps are given below:

1. Sodium chloride(NaCl), ammonia( NH3) and carbon dioxide( CO2) are taken in water to form sodium bicarbonate( NaHCO3).

2. Sodium bicarbonate is separated as it precipitates out from the solution as a solid. In presence of heat, it decomposes to form anhydrous sodium carbonate( soda ash).

3. Recrystallization of the sodium carbonate obtained by dissolving in water.

The process of formation of sodium carbonate is referred to as the Solvay process which is utilised to produce washing soda.

Cos(a+b)=0 We know that, Cos 90 = 0 So, Cos(a+b) = Cos 90 => a+b = 90 => a = 90 - b Now, Sin(a-b) = Sin(90-b-b) = Sin(90-2b) = Cos 2b [ as Sin(90-x) = Cos x ] Thus, Sin(a-b) = Cos 2b

Rajesh Sharma 5 years, 4 months ago

cos (a+b) =0 => cos (a+b) = cos 90 => a+b = 90 => a = 90- b Now sin(a+b) = sin(90-b-b) = sin(90-2b) = cos 2b     [as sin (90 - x) = cos  x]

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 4 months ago

cos (a+b) =0

=> cos (a+b) = cos 90

=> a+b = 90

=> a = 90- b

Now

sin(a+b)

= sin(90-b-b)

= sin(90-2b)

= cos 2b     [as sin (90 - x) = cos  x]

Regionalism is one of the major challenges that any nation has to face during developmental stage. Some such challenges faced may include:-
• Financial infrastructure.
• Colonialism.
• Disparity.
• Raw material and market need.
These factors restrict a number of regions to stay undeveloped and economically backward. The development is usually noticed in only few regions around the major rural areas that are industrially developed.
For effective development, it is important that proper grants have to be offered by the leaders of the nation. Apart from this, it is also important for proper distribution of land reforms within these regions.

When societies develop, expand and become more complex in terms of social, economic and political relations, they need political parties to sustain governance. Political parties tend to provide the base on which the praxis of representative government is built. They gather public views on various important issues, articulate them and then present them to the government. Parties bring various representatives together, support or restrain government and its apparatus, develop policies and justify or oppose them in the public domain depending on their political ideology. These conditions are necessary for healthy development of representative democracies. Hence, it can be said that political parties are essential for this purpose.

Let the present age of father = years and the present age of son = y years

According to question:

 x + y = 45  ...(1)

Again, 5 years ago, the product of their ages was 124, therefore,

(Age of man 5 years ago) × (Age of son 5 years ago) = 124

(x – 5) × (– 5) = 124

⇒ (45 – y - 5) ×(y – 5) = 124  [Using (1)]

⇒ 40y – y2 - 200 + 5y = 124

⇒ y2  - 45y  + 324 = 0

⇒ y2  - 36y  - 9y + 324 = 0

⇒ y(y - 36) -9 (y - 36) = 0

⇒ (y - 36)(y - 9) = 0

⇒ y = 36 or y = 9

For y = 36, x = 45 - 36 = 9 which is not possible.

For y = 9, x = 45 - 9 = 36

Therefore, the present age of father = 36 years and the present age of son = 9 years.

Holozoic

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 4 months ago

The method of nourishment in Amoeba is holozoic.

The different advances engaged with the procedure of nourishment are:

  • Ingestion: Amoeba ingests food with the assistance of its finger-like expansions, called pseudopodia. At the point when a food molecule approaches Amoeba, it structures pseudopodia around it and structures a food vacuole inside the Amoeba.
  • Processing: Various catalysts from the cytoplasm go into the food vacuole and separate them into straightforward dissolvable atoms.
  • Ingestion: The basic solvent food is consumed by cytoplasm of Amoeba from food vacuoles through the procedure of dispersion.
  • Osmosis: Amoeba cell acquires vitality from the retained food through breath. This vitality is used by Amoeba for its development and fix of the body.
  • Egestion: When a lot of undigested food gets gathered inside Amoeba, its cell film breaks and tosses out the undigested food.
