Black soil is formed by the weathering or breaking of igneous rocks and also by the cooling or solidification of lava from the volcano eruption. Therefore, it is also called as the lava soil. As per the name, black soil is black in colour and is most abundantly found in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and in some southern parts of India, including the Godavari and near to the Krishna valleys.
Black soil are rich in Calcium, Carbonate, Potash and hold moisture, hence it is found sticky when it is wet and cracks when it is dry. As discussed, back soil is formed from the volcano eruption, which is very much fertile and best suitable for intensive agriculture.

One of the poetic device used in the phrase is Imagery.
- The question has been asked from the poem Fire and Ice by Robert Frost.
- In the phrase the poet says "From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favour fire. The poetic device here is imagery as some people think that the world will end in fire.
- Imagery functions in a way that the reader imagines. It focuses on the five senses, of touch, sight, taste, smell, and sound.

Resource planning is the judicious use of resources. Resource planning becomes more important in a country like India, where resources are not distributed properly. For example; many states are rich in mineral and deficient in other resources, such as Jharkhand is rich in minerals, but there is problem of drinking water and other facilities, Arunachal Pradesh has plenty of water but lack of other development because of lack of resources.

- In this agriculture, farmers clear a patch of land and produce cereals and other crops to sustain their families.
- When the soil fertility decreases, the farmers shift and clear a fresh patch of land for cultivation.
- This type of shifting allows nature to replenish the fertility of the soil through natural processes.
Land productivity in this type of agriculture is low, as the farmers do not use fertilisers or any modern inputs.

Resistance of electric lamp (R1) = 100 Ω
Resistance of toaster (R2) = 50 Ω
Resistance of water filter (R3) = 500 Ω
Potential difference of the source (V) = 220 V
The three resistors are connected in parallel as shown in the below figure.

(1) Total resistance (R) can be calculated as shown below.
1/R = 1/R₁ + 1/R₂ + 1/R₃
1/R = 1/100 + 1/50 + 1/500
1/R = ( 5 + 10 + 1 )/500
1/R = 16/500
500/16 = R
Total Resistance (R) = 500/16 Ω
R = 31.25 Ω
(2) According to ohm’s law the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the voltage across the two points.
V ∝ I or V = IR
R is constant called resistance.
R = V/I
500/16 = 220/I
I = 220 × (16/500)
I = 7.04 A
Therefore, the resistance of the electric iron is 31.25 Ω and the current flowing through it is 7.04 A.

Hydrochloric acid is necessary to make the medium acidic which allows inactive enzyme pepsinogen to be converted into pepsin. Pepsin plays an important role in the digestion of proteins. Moreover, it also kills various microbes which may be present in food. These actions would not be possible in the absence of hydrochloric acid.

Lymph is a light yellow liquid. It is a medium of circulation in human body which flows only in one direction - from body tissues to the heart. The functions of lymph are:
(i) It takes part in the nutritive process of the body.
(ii) It protects the body by killing the germs drained out of the body tissues with the help of lymphocytes contained in the lymph nodes, by making antibodies.
(iii) It helps in removing the waste products like fragments of dead cells etc.

Urea is produced from the conversion of ammonia. Ammonia comes from the breakdown of amino acids which can be dangerous if too much ammonia is in the body. Uric acid is produced from purines in foods after it has been digested. Urea is made in the liver and excreted in urine. The urea cycle utilizes five intermediate steps, catalyzed by five different enzymes, to convert ammonia to urea. Birds, reptiles, and insects, on the other hand, convert toxic ammonia to uric acid instead of urea.

Nitrogenous wastes in the body tend to form toxic ammonia, which must be excreted. Mammals such as humans excrete urea, while birds, reptiles, and some terrestrial invertebrates produce uric acid as waste. Uricothelic organisms tend to excrete uric acid waste in the form of a white paste or powder. Birds therefore get rid of their nitrogen waste by using only enough water to push the paste-like uric acid down the excretory system.

Placenta is a disc like special tissue which develops between the uterus wall and the embryo after implantation. Its function is the exchange of nutrients, oxygen and waste products between the embryo and the mother. It contains villi on the embryo’s side of the tissue. On the mother’s side are blood spaces, which surround the villi. This provides a large surface area for glucose and oxygen to pass from the mother to the embryo. The developing embryo will also generate waste substances which can be removed by transferring them into the mother’s blood through the placenta. The time period from the fertilisation up to the birth of a baby is called gestation. The average gestation period in humans is about 9 months (about 38 weeks).The child is born as a result of rhythmic contractions of the muscles in the uterus.
