Let a and d be the first term and common difference of AP

nth term of AP

an=a+(n−1)d

∴a3=a+(3−1)d=a+2d

a7=a+(7−1)d=a+6d

Given a3+a7=6

∴(a+2d)+(a+6d)=6

⇒2a+8d=6

⇒a+4d=3....(1)

Also given

a3×a7=8

∴(a+2d)(a+6d)=8

⇒(3−4d+2d)(3−4d+6d)=8       [Using (1)]

⇒(3−2d)(3+2d)=8

⇒9−4d2=8

⇒4d2=1

⇒d2=1/4

⇒d=± 1/2

When d=1/2

a=3−4d=3−4×(1/2) =3−2=1

When d=−1/2

a=3−4d=3+4×(1/2) =3+2=5

When a=1 & d=21

S16=216[2×1+(16−1)×21]=8(2+215)=4×19=76

When a=5 & d=−21

S16=216[2×5+(16−1)×(−21)]=8(10−215)=4×5=20

Thus, the sum of first 16 terms of the AP is 76 or 20.

Question 1: Below is a graph given showing birth and death rates in a country from 1901 to 2101. Write an analytical paragraph (100-150 words). https://www.successcds.net/images/graph10.png- the link for the image Answer 1: The graph shows birth and death rates starting from 1901 till 2101. Since 1901, the birth rate has remained more than the death rate until 2041. Birth rate was 20000 in 1901 and started increasing gradually. It peaked in 1961 to around 65000. From 1961, birth rate has fluctuated multiple times between 50000 and 60000. It is expected to decline for the coming years reaching approximately 42000 by 2101. On the other hand, the death rate stood at around 10000 in 1901 and then has increased steadily. It is expected to rise strikingly from 2021 before levelling off to approximately 60000 between 2061 and 2081. The graph indicates a slight decline in deaths in the year 2101. The graph shows the huge gap between birth rate and death during 1961 to 2001. However, this gap is expected to reduce in the later years. Overall, as opposed to the prevailing trends, the death rate will be more than the birth rate in the later half of the 21st century. let the breadth =b m
length = l =(2b+1)m
area =528m²
l*b= 528
(2b+1)b-528=0
2b²+b-528=0
2b²+33b-32b-528=0
b(2b+33)- 16(2b+33)=0
(2b+33)(b-16)=0
2b+33=0 or b-16=0
b should not be zero
therefore
b-16=0
b=16
breadth = 16m
length =l= 2b+1=2*16+1=32+1=33m

logoGET APP CBSE’s general body meeting proposes reduced syllabus for 2021 exam CBSE’s general body meeting proposes reduced syllabus for 2021 exam ThumbTeam Careers360 27th Jun, 2020 - 4:18 p.m. IST NEW DELHI: At a hurriedly-convened general body meeting (GBM) of the Central Board of Secondary Education, or CBSE, the board decided to consider the highest marks in the best of three subjects for any paper or answer script lost in transit. A principal of a school who did not wish to be named said the usual practice was to consider the average or mean marks of three top subjects. The results of the CBSE board exams are expected to be declared by July 15. The pending CBSE Class 12 exams were cancelled on the order of the Supreme Court on June 25. The GBM also has taken decisions that will have far-reaching consequences for the 2020-21 academic session including reducing the syllabus by 33% and that the schools are free to rationalize their curriculum for class 1 to 8. CBSE board exams 2021 The course material of the board exams 2021 is proposed to be reduced by approximately 33 percent in consultation with the NCERT. Schools will be free to rationalize the curriculum for Classes 1 to 8, on their own. The GBM was assured that the reduced curriculum for Classes 9 to 12 shall be released very shortly, and most probably, before the end of June. As only reduced teaching time is available for the board exams 2021 due of the COVID-19 pandemic, the CBSE proposes to make the question papers consisting of 50 percent concept-based multiple-choice questions and the rest, theory-based. The details will be released shortly.
