» 2x + 3y + 5 = 0
» kx + 4y = 10
➡ kx + 4y - 10 = 0
we have to find the value of k such that the pair of equations have unique solution.
we know that, when pair of equations have unique solution,
a1/a2 ≠ b1/b2
➡ 2/k ≠ 3/5
just put any value of k so that it doesn't get equal to 3/5.
you can put 1, 2 etc.
for example, k is 2, then a1/a2 = 2/2 = 1
LHS ≠ RHS

Quaternary activities are specialized tertiary activities in the ‘Knowledge Sector’ which demands a separate classification. There has been a very high growth in demand for and consumption of information-based services from mutual fund managers to tax consultants, software developers and statisticians. Personnel working in office buildings, elementary schools and university classrooms, hospitals and doctors’ offices, theatres, accounting and brokerage firms all belong to this category of services. Like some of the tertiary functions, quaternary activities can also be outsourced. They are not tied to resources, affected by the environment, or necessarily localised by market.

Carbon has four electrons in its outermost shell. So, if carbon has to make ionic compounds then there are following possibilities:
- Carbon may gain four electrons to attain a noble gas configuration. But in such a situation, it would be difficult for 6 protons to balance 10 electrons.
- Carbon may lose four electrons to attain a noble gas configuration. But removing 4 electrons from a carbon atom would require too much energy and hence this won’t be possible in practical situations. Moreover, after losing four electrons the carbon atom would be left with just 2 electrons to balance 6 protons.

'Glycerol' is the product formed besides soap that is obtained during saponification process.
- Soaps are defined as a sodium or potassium salts of long chain fatty acids.
- When the triglycerides in fat or oil react with aqueous NaOH or KOH, they are converted as components namely soap and glycerol.
- This is referred as alkaline hydrolysis of esters. Since this reaction leads to the formation of soap, it is called the Saponification process.
- This reaction is exothermic in nature, because heat is liberated during the process.
- The soap formed remains in suspension form in the mixture.
