Height is the measurement of an object in the vertical direction and distance is the measurement of an object from a particular point in the horizontal direction. If we imagine a line connecting the point of observation to the topmost point of the object then the horizontal line, vertical line and the imaginary line will form a triangle.

Observe the figure. Consider the observer to be at point C. The height of the object is shown by line AB. The distance of the object from the observer is given by line BC. The object may or may not be perpendicular to the ground. Line AC represents the Line of Sight when the observer is observing the topmost point of the object. Angle α represents the angle of elevation and Angle β represents the angle of depression.
Using trigonometry, if we are provided with any of the two quantities that may be a side or an angle, we can calculate all the rest of the quantities. By the law of alternate angles, the angle of elevation and angle of depression are consequently equal in magnitude (α = β). Tan α is equal to the ratio of the height and distance.
You can be provided with any two of the following information:
- The distance of the object from the observer
- The height of the object
- Angle at which the observer views the topmost point of the object (angle of elevation)
- The angle at which the observer views the object when the observer is on top of a tower/building (angle of depression)

The introduction of High Yielding Varieties (HYV) of seeds and the increased use of chemical fertilisers and irrigation are known collectively as Green Revolution. It provided the increase in production needed to make India self-sufficient in foodgrains, thus improved the agricultural sector in India. High yielding wheat was first introduced to India in 1968 by American agronomist Norman Borlaug. Borlaug has been hailed as father of Green Revolution, but MS Swaminathan is known as 'Father of Green Revolution in India'.. Thus, Green Revolution is the term used to describe a new strategy of agricultural development introduced in the late 1960s, in India. It brought about significant increase in food production in India.
The main features of Green Revolution in India were as follows
(i) High Yielding Varieties seeds promised to produce much greater amounts of grain on a single plant.
(ii) Use of advanced technology, chemical fertilisers, pesticides and well-developed system of irrigation.
(iii) These steps solved food crisis in India and made India self-sufficient in foodgrains.
(iv) This led to higher income growth and reduced poverty.
(v) This led to commercialisation of agriculture. In many areas, Green Revolution is associated with loss of soil fertility due to increased use of chemical fertilisers. Also, continuous use of groundwater for tubewell irrigation has reduced the water level below the ground.

Reproduction is the process by which new individuals are produced by the parents. The process of reproduction ensures that a plant or animal species does not disappear from Earth. This process is very important in maintaining stability in the ecosystem and for the continuation of life on earth. Had there been no reproduction, all the species would have become extinct.
Importance of Reproduction
- Reproduction maintains a balance between the birth rate and death rate.
- The new individuals replace the old and the dying population.
- It also helps in increasing the number of species in the ecosystem.
- The genes are transmitted from the parents to the offspring.
- This leads to the evolution of species.
- Variations in species and their ability to survive in different environments is the result of reproduction.

Destarching occurs in a plant when a part of a plant is "deprived of starch, as by translocation". It is also the process of eliminating starch reserves in a plant for experiments concerning photosynthesis.
To prove the necessity of sunlight in photosynthesis following steps need to do
- Take a plant with destarched leaf.
- Leaf is partially covered with black paper on which a design is cut.
- Expose this plant to sunlight for few hours and perform a starch test with iodine solution.
Observation-
- Covered leaf part shows brown colouration.
- Exposed leaf shows blue-black colour.
Result- Starch is present in the exposed leaf.
Conclusion- Leaf exposed to sunlight give iodine test, proving that sunlight is necessary for photosynthesis.

Let a be the positive odd integer which when divided by 6 gives q as quotient and r as remainder.
according to Euclid’s division lemma
a=bq+r
a=6q+r
where , a=0,1,2,3,4,5
then,
a=6q
or
a=6q+1
or
a=6q+2
or
a=6q+3
or
a=6q+4
or
a=6q+5
but here,
a=6q+1 & a=6q+3 & a=6q+5 are odd.

A food chain is a series of organisms where all the organismsare dependent on next organism as a source of food. The series of organism take part at various biotic levels to form a food chain. Each step of the food chain forms a tropic level. ... Tertiary consumers (larger carnivores) form the fourth tropic level. A food chain is a linear sequence of organisms through which nutrients and energy pass as one organism eats another. In a food chain, each organism occupies a different trophic level, defined by how many energy transfers separate it from the basic input of the chain.
