Free trade may prevent developing economies develop their infant industries. For example, if a developing economy was trying to diversify their economy to develop a new manufacturing industry, they may be unable to do it without some tariff protection. Difficulty of making progress.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago

The WTO is a continuation of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) which aims to promote the practice of free trade around the world. According to the WTO website it is ‘an organization for liberalizing trade. It’s a forum for governments to negotiate trade agreements.

A disadvantage of the WTO for developing countries is that the WTO makes developing countries dependent on the stronger more powerful core nations. The WTO has put developing countries in a vulnerable position in which they are easily exploited by core nations as the developing countries now depend on the core nations for investment, loans, trade and technology. Due to word restraints we cannot discuss all of the above cases; therefore, this paper will only discuss the technological dependency created by the WTO through analysing intellectual property rights (IPRs). The access to medicines needed to fight diseases became a big issue on the international stage. The developing countries saw the IPRs as a disadvantage as it would make their countries more vulnerable and dependent on the West to provide the medicine which they may otherwise be able to produce, usually cheaper and faster. Whereas Michalopoulos argued that the reason why the pharmaceutical industry was most at risk was because ‘the pharmaceutical industry has not previously enjoyed patent protection in many developing countries, it is the main sector for which the potential losses from TRIPS have been estimated.’

Democracy in modern usage is a system of government in which the citizens exercise power directly or elect representatives from among themselves to form a governing body, such as a parliament. Democracy is sometimes referred to as "rule of the majority". Democracy was originally conceived in Classical Greece, where political representatives were chosen by a jury from amongst the male citizens: rich and poor.

Dikshita Dutta 5 years, 1 month ago

The people are the real ruler in democracy because they are the one who decide who will represent or rule them.

In eyeglasses, bifocal lenses contain two different prescriptions: an upper section to allow for distance vision and an additional power on the bottom part of the lens to aid in close up focus. The result is vision clarity at both distance and near with one pair of glasses.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago

Bifocals: A bifocal lens is created with two different areas of vision correction, which are divided by a distinct line that sits horizontally across the lens. The top portion of the lens is used for distance, while the bottom portion of the lens is used for closer vision.

King Adithya H M... 5 years, 1 month ago

Bifocal eyeglass lenses contain two lens powers to help you see objects at all distances after you lose the ability to naturally change the focus of your eyes due to age, also known as presbyopia.

POWER sharing is desirable in democracy because it helps to reduce the possibility of conflict between social groups. Conflict between social groups leads to violence and political instability. Power sharing is a good way to ensure the stability of political order. Imposing the will of majority community over others, in the long run may undermine the unity of the nation.Tyranny of the majority is not just oppressive for the minority, it often brings ruin to the majority as well.

A democratic rule involves sharing power with those affected by its exercise and who have to live with its effects. People have a right to be consulted on how they are to be governed. A Legitimate government is one where citizens, through participation, acquire a stake in the system. Prudential reasons stress that power sharing brings out better outcomes whereas moral reasons emphasize the act of power sharing as valuable.

The ratio is 3:4

A(2,5) B(x,y) and C divides the line at C(-1,2)

Step-by-step explanation:For X coordinate

-1=3*x+4*2/3+4

-1=3x+8/7

-7-8=3x

-15=3x

X=-5

For y coordinate :

2=3y+4*5/7

14=3y+20

14-20=3y

-6=3y

Y=-6/3

Y=-2

So x= -5 and y= -2

In chemistry, the term transition metal has three possible definitions: The IUPAC definition defines a transition metal as "an element whose atom has a partially filled d sub-shell, or which can give rise to cations with an incomplete d sub-shell"

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago

Transition elements

  • The elements belonging to groups 3 to 12 are transition elements.
  • In these elements last electron enters (n-1)d subshell.
  • The properties of these elements are intermediate between s-block and p-blck elements.
  • These elements represents change or transition in properties from most electropositive to least electropositive elements.Therefore these elements are called transition elements.

Examples

The most common metals used in construction and manufacturing(iron), metals used in coins(nickel, copper) and metals used in modern technology(titanium)
