x2 +3x - (m+2)(m+5) = 0
⇒ x2 + (m+5)x - (m+2)x - (m+2)(m+5) = 0
⇒ x (x + m+5) - (m+2)(x+m+5) = 0
⇒ (x+m+5)(x-m-2) = 0
⇒ x = - m-5. and m+2
Roots are (-m-5) and (m+2)

In Bholi’s life, love and encouragement made the impossible possible. Her story showed how, after the teacher handed over the key of education to her, she was able to unlock the door that confined her to the stereotypes and expectations yet lack of appreciation or recognition that the society has imposed on women. Bholi’s excellent character is seen when she expresses her desire to serve the very parents who treated her with disdain as long as she could remember. Also, she was ready to married the unprincipled Bishambernath so as to not go against her parents’ wishes and to protect his dignity. When she saw that the greedy and unruly Bishambernath, her prospective husband was charging her father for upholding his dignity, Bholi decides that her family does not need such an unworthy relationship. Because of her education, she was bold enough to protest and make her own decision as to how she would lead her life and support her parents. Her protest is seen by the society as her insolence. Her character deemed it fit to ignore them. Also, a contrast is seen when Bholi’s sisters become envious of their sister’s rich prospective husband while Bholi refused that so called ‘luck’ because she knew that a person was to be judged by his character and not his wealth.

Ironically, Bholi was sent to school as her mother believed she was a burden and let the teachers at the school worry for her. The teacher showed affection and encouraged her to shed her fear. She was assured by her teacher that she would speak like others one day.
Years of hard work transformed Bholi into a bold and confident young woman. Bishamber refused to marry Bholi due to her appearance and demanded five thousand rupees. Bholi saw how her father was humiliated for no reason. She refused to marry a greedy, mean and contemptible coward. She assured her father that she would serve him and her mother in their old age. She had a mission in her life; she would spread the light of education in her village.

Bholi never knew anything about school. When her father suddenly caught her by the hand, she was frightened because she thought she would also be sold as her old cow, Lakshmi. When she saw that she got to wear decent clothes and got well groomed, she felt that she was going to a better place than her home.

Many factors are responsible for motivating youngsters towards alcohol or drugs. Curiosity, need for adventure and excitement, experimentation are the initial causes of motivation. Some youngsters start consuming drugs and alcohol in order to overcome negative emotions (such as stress, pressure, depression, frustration) and to excel in various fields. Several mediums like television, internet, newspaper, movies etc. are also responsible for promoting the idea of alcohol to the younger generation. Amongst these factors, reasons such as unstable and unsupportive family structures and peer pressure can also lead an individual to be dependant on drugs and alcohol.
Preventive measures against addiction of alcohol and drugs:
(a) Parents should motivate and try to increase the will power of their child.
(b) Parents should educate their children about the ill-effects of alcohol. They should provide them with proper knowledge and counselling regarding the consequences of addiction to alcohol.
(c) It is the responsibility of the parent to discourage a child from experimenting with alcohol. Youngsters should be kept away from the company of friends who consume drugs.
(d) Children should be encouraged to devote their energy in other extra- curricular and recreational activities.
(e) Proper professional and medical help should be provided to a child if sudden symptoms of depression and frustration are observed.

Though India is an important producer of iron and steel in the world, we are not able to perform to our full potential largely due to:
- High cost: Limited availability of coking coal as the amount of coking coal is limited, its cost in India is high therefore the industry faces difficulty in buying it.
- Low productivity of labour.
- Irregular supply of energy: There is an irregular supply of electricity in India, so that work becomes more difficult.
- Poor infrastructure: The technological development in India is less as compared to other countries.

- Cellulose: The cell wall of the plants is made up of cellulose. ...

Refractive index of a medium is defined as the factor by which speed of light reduces as compared to the speed of light in vacuum.
→ More (less) refractive index implies less (more) speed of light in that medium, which therefore is called denser (rarer) medium.

The refraction index, n, of a transparent medium is defined as the ratio of speed of light in vacuum to the speed of light in that medium. The formula is n= c/v
where the speed of light c=3×108m/s and v is the speed of light in the desired medium which is given as v=2.4×108m/s.
Therefore, n=3×108m/s/ 2.4×108m/s=1.25.
Hence, the refractive index of the transparent medium is 1.25.
