Initial velocity, u=12km/h

Final velocity, v=18km/h

Using the equation of motion as:

v2−u2=2as

Where, s is distance traversed by ship.

(18)2−(12)2=2(36)s

324−144=36s

s=5km

Distance traversed by ship is 5 Km.

s = 5 cm = 0.05 m

from 3rd equation,
v² -u² = 2as
⇒0 - (20)² = 2×0.05×a
⇒0.1 a = - 400
⇒a = - 4000 m/s²

deceleration will be - 4000 m/s²

Colloidal particles are smaller in size. They remain in state of zig-zag motion 

(Brownian motion) always, so the force of gravity is encountered and they do not settle down. 

But the particles in suspension are larger in size, so they settle down under the influence of gravity.

Periscope is used to observe objects around an obstacle. The light from the objects enters the periscope from one end and emerges from the other end and enters into our eyes. We use mirrors inside a periscope to make the light bend in the direction we want to see it.

Tyndall effect is in fact the definite test to show the difference between a true and a colloidal solution. it works on the principle that light beams scatter due to the presence of large colloidal particles in the solution which separate the light however in a true solution the particles are not as large enough to scatter the light particles, thats why Tyndall effect is not seen in true solution.

ongoing water crisis in India that affects nearly 1 million people each year.[1] In addition to affecting the huge rural and urban population, the water scarcity in India also extensively affects the ecosystem and agriculture. India has only 4% of the world’s fresh water resources despite a population of over 1.3 billion people.[2] In addition to the disproportionate availability of freshwater, water scarcity in India also results from drying up of rivers and their reservoirs in the summer months, right before the onset of the monsoons throughout the country. The crisis has especially worsened in the recent years due to climate change which results in delayed monsoons, consequently drying out reservoirs in several regions. Other factors attributed to the shortage of water in India are a lack of proper infrastructure and government oversight and unchecked water pollution. The acute shortage of water for daily needs has prompted many government and non government organisations to take stringent measures to combat the problem. The Government of India has launched multiple schemes and programs, including the formation of an entire 'Jal Shakti' Ministry to deal with the problem. The government has also insisted on techniques such as rainwater harvesting, water conservation and more efficient irrigation. Agriculture alone is responsible for 80% of the country’s water usage.[2] Several large cities of India have experienced water shortages in recent years, with Chennai being the most prominent in 2019. The shortage of water affected the entire city of 9 million people and resulted in the closure of several hotels, restaurants and businesses. According to a report by the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog), at least 21 major Indian cities, including the capital New Delhi will completely run out of groundwater by 2020. The report also noted that approximately 200,000 people die in India each year due to the lack of access to safe drinking water.[3] Impact Reasons for scarcity

 Water scarcity in most cases is caused by over- exploitation, excessive use and unequal access to water among different social groups.

<div> Water scarcity may be an outcome of large and growing population and consequent greater demands for water, and unequal access to it. A large population means more water not only for domestic use but also to produce more food. Hence, to facilitate higher food-grain production, water resources are being over-exploited to expand irrigated areas and dry-season agriculture. </div>
