Class IX Summative Assessment II – Eligibility for Improvement

This  is  in  continuation  of  CBSE  circular  no.40/29.9.2009  regarding  introduction  of Grading at Class IX and X from the Academic Session 2009-10.   As per above circular, the Board has discontinued the practice of declaring ‘Compartment’ or ’Fail’.  Further, it has also been informed that candidates who have obtained Grade ‘E1’ or ‘E2’ are required to improve their performance in subsequent five attempts.

CBSE-Affiliated Schools abroad will have an International Syllabus

NEW DELHI: Taking the first step towards giving the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) an international character, the HRD ministry has decided that from the next academic session CBSE-affiliated schools abroad will have an international syllabus.

Even CBSE schools in India will be free to introduce this syllabus. While no change will be brought in the mathematics and science syllabus, language and social science will undergo complete change. The new syllabus is likely to be finalized within a month.

Class 10 Social Science CCE Syllabus 2010-2011 for Term 1 and Term 2

CCE Syllabus for class 10 Social Science for session 2010-2011 prescribed for First Term (April 2010 to September 2010) and Second Term (October 2010 to March 2011) issued by CBSE, New Delhi.

Highlights for CBSE Board Exam 2010

CBSE Board exams are going to start from 3rd March 2010. Total 1601646 students are registered this year in class 10 and class 12 for March 2010 CBSE Board exams. This number has increased by approx 9% this year in comparison to last year.

This year the total number of special category students is 1891 in class X and 1309 in class 12. It is a bit lesser than that of previous year.
