Ox of a man is a phrase used for a very hard working person

Rishav Baghel 5 years, 3 months ago

It means that the person do very hard work

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 3 months ago

An ox of a man means a very strong man. Lencho was a hard working farmer. He worked hard in the field. His faith in God, made him to write letter to God. This shows how strong & hard working Lencho was, as he was worried about his harvest, which was destroyed by hailstorm. He thought that, writing a letter to God may help him to buy seeds for his next crop, as he didn't have any more seeds for his next crop. So the author compared him to an ox. This is a literary device used called metaphor.

More employment in rural areas can be created by taking following steps:

1. Farmers should diversify agriculture and adopt horticulture, animal rearing, organic farming, pisciculture besides farming.

2. Government should take necessary steps to provide loans to farmers at cheaper rates and from formal sources of credit.

3. Creation of basic infrastructure facilities such as roads, transportation, market and banking will lead to creation of employment opportunities in rural areas.

4. Establishment and promotion of cottage and small scale industries will also increase employment opportunities in rural areas.

The agricultural sector is the largest employer in the Indian economy. It employs nearly 51% of the labour force in India. However, this sector accounts for only about 17% of India’s GDP. The relatively low contribution to GDP despite employing the largest portion of the workforce is due to the low productivity of the agricultural sector. The output of crops like rice and wheat per hectare of land is much less in India than in other countries like the USA, France or China. As a result, even the large workforce cannot produce a very high amount of farm output that can contribute more to GDP. The low productivity of Indian agriculture is, in turn, due to the following reasons. a. The average size of land holdings is very small in India. b. The absence of alternative employment alternatives like manufacturing industries in many parts of rural India causes the small farms to be over-manned disguised unemployment and low productivity of labour. c. The small farms hamper the adoption of modern technology in agriculture that can enhance productivity.

We find that the child's image in the magic mirror has
1. Head bigger and hence the mirror must be a concave mirror. A concave mirror here is producing an enlarged and erect mirror.
2. The middle portion unaltered and hence the middle part of the mirror must be a plane mirror.
3. The bottom part of the mirror produces a smaller image of the legs. The image is smaller since it is produced by a convex mirror. The convex mirror produced the erect and diminished image.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 3 months ago

A Concave mirror is also called a converging mirror, has a reflecting surface away from the incident light.

Plane mirror is a flat reflecting surface where angle of reflection is equal to angle of incidence.

Convex Mirror is also called the diverging mirror.

Now according to the question at the top it is concave mirror because the boy finds the image bigger it means converging image, on the middle part it is found the image is of same size so it is plane mirror and at the bottom the image becomes smaller that is the image diverges so it is convex mirror.

Gandhiji launched the Non-cooperation movement of 1921 because:

  • According to Gandhiji , the British rule was established in India with the cooperation of Indians, and had survived only because of this cooperation. So time has arrived to withdraw cooperation to the British.
  • First World War added to the misery of the Indian people. Heavy taxes, high prices, famines and epidemics made people's life miserable.
  • Rowlatt Act invited large scale protests throughout the country.
  • Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and the injustice done to Punjab made Indians angry which needed to be avenged.
  • To restore the status of the ruler of Turkey.
  • To bring Swaraj or Self Rule to India.
  • Mahatma Gandhi declared that the main objectives of the non cooperation movement were :
  • To cripple the British administration and make them realize that they cannot function without the actual support of the Indians.
  • To avenge the wrong done by the Government in Punjab (Jallianwala Bagh Massacre) in a non violent way.
  • To bring about unity among the people. To inculcate a sense of nationalism.
  • To promote khadi and to attain Swaraj.

Limitations of the Mendeleev periodic table :

  • Elements with large differences in properties were included in the same group. for example, hard metals like copper and silver were included along with soft metals like sodium and potassium.
  • No proper position could be given to the element hydrogen. In the periodic table, the location of hydrogen is uncertain. It was put with alkali metals within 1A class, but certain hydrogen properties are close to those of halogens. So, it can also be put for halogens in the band.
  • The increasing order of atomic mass was not strictly followed throughout. For example in cobalt and nickel & Tellurium and Indium.
  • As isotopes are atoms of the same element having different atomic masses, they should have been given different positions while arranging them in the order of atomic mass. But this was not done.

Ivan : My dogs are in my compound. How do you know it was my dogs, and not  anybody else's, that ruined your meadow?

Ivan : You should have shooed them away. Why didn't you?

Natalya : Before i came out into the meadow, they ran away. They were frightened by the cow mooing. Next time, ensure you tie your dogs to a pole before going to bed. Now, you ensure that my meadow is cleaned up.

The evolution process supported by examples from the text: - Dumb cow---- people’s perception of her lack of sense, stammering which kept her quiet and submissive demeanour, most of the times - Going to school----guidance of the teacher and education, overcame stammering- instilled confidence and a sense of self-esteem - Did not succumb to the greedy demands of the prospective groom and spoke out. Conclusion: This journey of Bholi’s growth clearly showcases the idea of being an individual and not being exploited by people or circumstances. Instead, evolves to being a person being proactive and contributing to the wellbeing of others around (which is exactly what she decides to do)

Pre Boards Make Students Serious for Board Exams

The only purpose of grilling session in pre-board exam is to bring out seriousness amongst the candidates. The exams are planned to offer a demo experience of the board exams.

The question paper exposes students to various types of difficulties they may face while attempting the actual answers. The exam is like a practice session to make students serious for upcoming board exams. The result of these internal exams will help you realize which subjects require more attention.

Help Track Your Performance

Pre boards are meant for evaluating your performance. Students can utilize the pre-boards to track their performance. The question paper of pre-board is a replica of board exams.

You must carefully evaluate each subject’s question paper as it will not only help in pinpointing any shortcomings in your revision, but will also further strengthen the areas where you already score well.

But you must not take any stress, even if the results are not good; to make it up for, push yourself harder each day by focusing on the topics in which you lag.

Try not to repeat your mistakes. You should revise seriously. If your pre-board marks are good, then, you should push yourself a little extra to get an excellent score.
