When magnesium ribbon is burnt in air, it combines with oxygen to form white powder magnesium oxide MgO with the release of heat and light. It forms a white powder of the magnesium oxide. Magnesium gives up two electrons to oxygen atoms to form this powdery product.

Yes, parents like Mrs Pumphrey definitely exist. These people spoil their children by ptaking sure all their demands are met. They spoil their children in the name of love and care. They not only feed them junk but also spoil their social habits. This kind of a behaviour is very harmful for children. Such overprotective parental behaviour hinders their growth as adults. In fact it sows the seeds of greed and dependency in them They become stubborn and do not learn to value anything. For them, hard work is a myth as they get everything easily. Over pampered children often fail to face the hardships of life later, as for them life has been a cakewalk. Pampering children in moderation is healthy, but excess of it is harmful. It is not just bad for humans but also for animals, as we see in the story ‘A triumph of Surgery’.

Peggy and Maddie decided to change their behaviour after Wanda’s incident. Peggy had tried to justify her behaviour towards Wanda that it was not her dress for which she teased her but she indirectly encouraged her for those beautiful drawings. And, that made her the winner of the drawing competition. While Maddie decided not to be a silent spectator and promised herself that she would try to protect if anyone would be mocked down.

Let BD be the tree broken at point C such that the broken part CD takes the position CA and strikes the ground at A. It is given that AB = 8 m and ∠BAC = 30°.
Let BC = x metres and CD = CA = y metres
In right triangle ABC, we have

Now, height of the tree

Hence, the height of the tree

Started on the pattern of “Chipko Movement” this movement was started in Karnataka to save trees. Appiko means ‘to hug’. On 8 September, 1983, 160 men, women and children hugged the trees (to save them) in Salkani forest in Sirsi and forced the woodcutters to leave.

Given,
∆ABC in which ∠B = 90° and BD ⊥ AC
Also, AD = 4 cm and CD = 5 cm
In ∆ADB and ∆CDB,
∠ADB = ∠CDB [each equal 90°]
∠BAD = ∠DBC [each equal to 90°-∠C]
∴ ∆DBA ∼ ∆DCB [by AAA similarity criteria]
Then,
In right angled ∆BDC,
BC2 = BD2 + CD2 [by Pythagoras theorem]
= BC2 = (2√5)2 + (5)2
= BC2 = 20 + 25 = 45
= BC = √45 = 3√5
Again,
Hence, BD = 2√5cm and AB = 6cm.

You have to read the chapters and poem in full from ncert textbook. But in english variety of questions can be made. You have to practice a lot in english to passage based question too. understand the chapters line by line from textbook . Only summary of chapters and poem in not sufficient.

Properties:
- Salts are mostly solids which melt as well as boil at high temperatures.
- Salts are generally soluble in water. For example, sodium chloride, potassium sulphate, aluminium nitrate, ammonium carbonate, etc., are soluble salts while silver chloride, lead chloride, copper carbonate, etc., are insoluble in water.
- It is a white crystalline solid. It exists as decahydrate of sodium carbonate.
- When exposed to dry air and heating it loses water molecules to change into anhydrous form.
- Na2CO3.10H2O + Exposure to open dry air → Na2CO3.H2O + 9H2O
- Na2CO3.H2O + Heating → Na2CO3
- It is soluble in water and during dilution heat will releases out.
- On reaction with acids sodium carbonate releases carbon dioxide along with the formation of sodium salts and water. Na2CO3 + HCl → 2NaCl + H2O + CO2
- Sodium carbonate is used to manufacture of glass, cleansing agents, soap, glass and paper.

Lungs are located in the chest cavity and separated from stomach and other parts of digestive system by a diaphragm. During breathing, intercostal muscles of ribs contract and relax which causes change in the volume of thorax.
During inhalation rib cage is raised and diaphragm lowers as intercostal muscles contract while during exhalation rib cage is lowered, diaphragm moves up, as intercostal muscles relax.
To ensure that clean atmospheric air is taken in during inhalation, there are hairs in nose which filter the air, trapping dirt in the mucus secreted from the epithelial lining.
In addition, epithelium in trachea also consists of ciliated cells. Cilia continuously beat upward to sweep the mucus from throat to the pharynx. Special goblet cells secrete mucus to trap the dirt from the inhaled air.
Cilia sweep it upward and it is swallowed from the pharynx into the adjacent oesophagus. Hence, the air entering lungs is free from dirt particles.
