The young seagull's parents encouraged him to fly, but he could not do it. They came round calling him in a sharp voice. They chided and threatened to let him starve on the ledge if he did not fly away. But, he did not have the courage to fly. Finally, his mother used a trick. She flew towards him with a piece of fish in her beak. The young seagull dived at the fish due to hunger. Within a few moments, he felt his wings spread outwards. Thus, he started flying for the first time.
