Romanticism, a cultural movement, sought to develop a particular form of nationalist sentiment. It generally criticised the glorification of reason and Science and focused instead on emotions, intuition and mystical feelings. Its effort was to create a sense of a shared collective heritage, a common cultural past, as the basis of a nation Romanticism is a cultural movement which sought to develop a particular form of nationalist sentiment. The emphasis on vernacular language and the collection of local folklore was not just to recover an ancient national spirit, but also to carry the modern nationalist message to large audiences who were mostly illiterate. Language too played an important role in developing nationalist sentiments. After Russian occupation, the Polish language was forced out of schools and the Russian language was imposed everywhere. Polish was used for Church gatherings and all religious instruction. As a result, a large number of priests and bishops were put in jail. The use of Polish came to be seen as a symbol of the struggle against Russian dominance.

Q.1) Read the extract and answers the questions Writing in a diary is a really strange experience for someone like me. Not only 8M because I've never written anything before, but also because it seems me that later on neither I nor anyone else will be interested in the musing of a thirteen-years old school girl. Oh well, it doesn't matter. I feel like writing, and I have an even greater need to get all kinds of things off my chest. Paper has more patience than people." I thought of this saying on one of those days when I wondering whether to stay in or go out. I finally stayed where I was, brooding: yes, paper does grandly referred to as a 'diary', unless I should ever find a real friend, it probably won't make a bit of difference. Now I'm back to the point that prompted me to keep a diary in the first place: I don't have a friend. Let me put it more clearly, since no one will believe that a thirteen-year old girl is completely alone in the worlds. And I'm not. I have loving parents and a sixteen-year old sister, and there are about thirty people I can call friends. I have a family, loving aunts and a good home. No, on the surface I seem to have everything, except my one true friend. All I think about when I'm with friends is having a good time. I can't bring myself to talk about anything but ordinary they're not liable to change. This is why I've started the diary. everyday things. We don't seem to be able to get any closer, and that's the problem. Maybe it's my fault that we don't confide in each other. In any case, that's just how things are, and unfortunately 1) How was the experience of writing a diary for the girl? 2) Why does the girl write her diary? 3) Explain: "Paper has more patience than people. 4) What was the main thing that prompted her to keep a diary? 5) Why will no one believe that she is alone in the world? 6) What does she think when she is with her friends? 7) What is the main problem of the girl with her friends? 8) Are things liable to change? Q. 2) You are Nikita. You read in the newspaper how the generation gap creates havoc in families nowadays You decide to write an article on the topic The Generation gap is destroying family life. For your school magazine. Write the article using the following clues in 100-150 words. Difference in attitude
