There is no thing as left hand thumb rule. Maxwell's right hand thumb rule states if we hold a conductor in our hand and keep the direction of the thumb in the direction of the current then the direction of our curved finger will point towards the direction of the magnetic field lines. If the current flows upward then the magnetic field line flows anti-clockwise and if the current flows downwards the the magnetic field lines flows clockwise.

A fuse that has a lower rating would result in a problem as one may need to frequently change it. A fuse that has a higher rating would not melt at higher currents too . this may lead to damage to the appliance. Therefore, the fuse should be replaced with that of an identical rating.

Banks play an important role in developing the economy of India. Following points show the importance of banks in the Indian economy:

  1. Banks help people to save their money in safe custody. To save their money, people deposit their money with banks.
  2. They only keep about 15% of the deposits as cash. The rest is used to give loans to various people.
  3. Loans are required for various economic activities as well as investments, Banks mediate between people having surplus cash and those in need of it.
  4. They give interest to the depositors and they charge interest on those taking loans from the banks. The difference between the interest rates is the main income of the bank.
  5. Credit provided by banks is crucial for the country’s growth and economy.
  6. Banks encourage depositing money by giving an interest This contributes to savings in the economy.
  7. By providing credit at reasonable interest rates, they encourage investment and prevent exploitation from the informal sector.
  8. Banks employ a large number of people and as such, they solve employment to some extent.

subject- Views on the verdict of the supreme court

Dear Sir,

This is Rachna Sen, a local householder, managing a residentiary in the Rohini area. I saw disclaimers that citizens and natives are welcome to share their views on the recent verdict of the supreme court and that happened to make me write this letter.

Parents when are old need the support and affection of their sons and daughters. It is evident that in multiple affairs, the children live at a separate place, for career purposes and other reasons away from their parents, divided by state or even overseas borders. As much as the parents need the care of their children at this delicate age, the children need to secure their future for taking care of their family. It is a great initiative of the supreme court to unite the family but at the same time the strict tone of the verdict that says ' they will have no right of inheritance' also pressurizes the children. They might be living away under compulsion but should manage their responsibilities at the same time. Taking care of parents and inheritance should not be linked as it should be performed with utmost affection and unconditionally. Children should not be conditioned with something in return. Children leaving away from their parents, take care of them at the same time and if they don't they should be penalized.

These were my opinions and views over the verdict. I have my old parents to take care of and I completely relate to this particular verdict.

Yours sincerely

Rachna,

A native.

42/D, Deepalay, Bibek nagar Middle Row Helabattala, Barasat Kolkata,700125 The Editor, Delhi News Network, Daryaganj, New Delhi-110022 Dear Sir, I am a resident of Kolkata, who has come for a two years job recently in New Delhi. While starting out my new job, I have come across a newspaper of yours in my home, which stated that Supreme Court has taken necessary steps to pass a order which furnishes every citizen with the duty to look after their parents. I have realised it's importance. Nowadays, very few children heed to look after their parents and take their duties, their responsibilities. Though they have a place to keep pets in their house, their parents turn out to be their burden, thus sending them to Old Age home as the alternative. This is due to the selfishness and relentless behavior of us towards our parents. We feel that we were dependent and were tied with the shackles of the admonition of our parents. As we are released, we are active to firstly throw them out of our house as a mark of the disposal of wastes. This should be prevented. We could not forget that parents are those who guard us like the Himalayas from the bitterly cold influence of the evil and protect us from any perilous hurdles that obstruct our success. I wish you could kindly help me with the initiative to preach this message so that every dreary chamber of the hearts of parents are filled with the sunshine of love. Thanking you, Yours faithfully, Rachna Pandey

When you write a 6 mark question, be sure that you understood the question very well. Analyse the question and find out the chapter from which it is asked. Write down the points which comes just before the given sentence. Explain why/how/what/when/where the sentence happens. For example:- How did Tricki recover at the surgery? (Mrs. Pumphrey Tricki's owned fed Tricki a lot. Eventhough Dr. Herriot advised to cut down his food intake, she kept on giving him lots of food and a little extras to keep him always from malnutrition. This caused Tricki to become sick.) Then move on to the explanation of how Tricki was treated at the surgery. Include these points too. * Plenty of water, no food * Started interest in surroundings on the 2nd day * On the third day started playing with them * No medications only exercise and diet. *Mrs Pumphrey sends eggs, wine, brandy,etc.

 According to the question,
Radius of the cones= r
Height of the upper cone= h
Height of the lower cone= H
Volume of the upper cone {tex}= \frac { 1 } { 3 } \pi r ^ { 2 } h{/tex}
Volume of the lower cone {tex}= \frac { 1 } { 3 } \pi r ^ { 2 } H{/tex}
Total volume of both the cones {tex}= \frac { 1 } { 3 } \pi r ^ { 2 } h + \frac { 1 } { 3 } \pi r ^ { 2 } H{/tex}
{tex}= \frac { 1 } { 3 } \pi r ^ { 2 } ( h + H ){/tex}
The quantity of water displaced by the cones = The total volume of both the cones
therefore,
The quantity of water displaced will be {tex}\frac { 1 } { 3 } \pi r ^ { 2 } ( h + H ) \text { units } ^ { 3 }{/tex}
