Given numbers are 455 and 42
Here, 455 > 42
So, we divide 455 by 42
By using Euclid’s division lemma, we get
455 = 42 × 10 + 35
Here, r = 35 ≠ 0.
On taking 42 as dividend and 35 as the divisor and we apply Euclid’s division lemma, we get
42 = 35 × 1 + 7
Here, r = 7 ≠ 0
So, on taking 35 as dividend and 7 as the divisor and again we apply Euclid’s division lemma, we get
35 = 7 × 5 + 0
The remainder has now become 0, so our procedure stops. Since the divisor at this last stage is 7, the HCF of 455 and 42 is 7.

3x-y-5=0
so 3x-y=5 (1st equation)
now multiply the equation by 2
(3x-y=5)×2
= 6x-2y=10
but as per the question
6x-2y-p=0
6x-2y=p
substitute the equations
p=10

Two important limitations of dobreiner tridas are:
All known elements could not be classified into groups of triads on the basis of their properties .
Not all groups obeyed the Law of Triads. For example, nitrogen family does not obey the Law of Triads.
Limitations of Octaves:
(i) This law was applicable to the classification of elements up to calcium only. After calcium, every eighth element did not possess the properties similar to that of the first element.
(ii) Newlands assumed that only 56 elements existed in nature and no more elements would be discovered in the future.
(iii) In order to fit elements into his table, Newlands put even two elements together in one slot and that too in the column of unlike elements having very different properties. For example, the two elements cobalt (Co) and nickel (Ni) were put together in just one slot, and that too in the column of elements like fluorine, chlorine and bromine which have very different properties from these elements.
Limitations of Mendeléev’s classification
- No fixed position could be assigned to hydrogen in the Periodic Table.
- Isotopes discovered long after Mendeléev periodic classification of
elements imparted a challenge to Mendeleev’s Periodic Law. - The atomic masses of elements did not increase in a steady manner while going from one element to other which made it difficult to predict the number of elements that could be discovered between two elements.

The British government arrested the two national leaders of India Dr Satya Pal and Dr Saifuddin Kitchlew for their involvement in the protests against the Rowlatt Act, which led to pervasive unrest among the people of Punjab. On April 13, 1919, on the occasion of Baisakhi, the people (men, women and children) of Punjab launched a peaceful protest against their arrest. The British military Commander General Dyer reached the park with soldiers and blocked the entrance of the park. Thereafter he ordered his soldiers to open fire. This firing lasted for ten minutes and killed thousands of people. The massacre ignited the anger of the Indians.

The painter depicted Germania as a fallen woman with the crown and standard thrown aside because German people's hopes to be united under one monarch (King Friedrich Willhelm IV) were dashed as he rejected their demand in 1848. The artist, Julius Hubner, depicted Germania in a forlorn state due to this rejection by the king. It symbolized the loss of hope. The crown and standard are symbols of the monarchy, which have been cast aside.
