Acquired traits are not inherited by the organism genetically but by environmental conditions present around the organism or the environmental conditions in which the organism lives. For example, Beetles will reduce in weight if not given enough food.
Whereas,
Inherited traits are those characteristics that an organism inherits from his/her parents i.e., passed on genetically through DNA. (Change in DNA). For example –Change of beetles in color from red to green.

Interaction of a substance with water is a very general definition of hydration.
When a salt, such as sodium chloride, dissolves in water, the sodium and chloride ions undergo hydration.

There are various methods of contraception used. These include the following:
1) Mechanical methods of birth control are:
i) Male Condom
ii) Female Condom
Both of these prevent the sperm from meeting the egg.
iii) Intrauterine Device (IUD) – a T-shaped device placed inside the uterus (by a doctor) which blocks the sperms from entry into the fallopian tubes
iv) Intrauterine System (IUS) – a device similarly designed and administered as the IUD which releases hormones that thicken the cervical mucus thus blocking sperms from entry into the uterus
v) Diaphragm, Cervical Cap, and Shield – latex or silicon cap used with spermicides which blocks the entry of sperms into the cervix
vi) Sponge – a soft, disk-shaped device that a woman wets and inserts into the ******, and thus covering the cervix and blocking the sperms
3) Hormonal methods - Oral administration of small doses of either progestogens or progestogen-estrogen combinations is a method used by females in the form of pills. They can also be used by females as injections or implants under the skin.

This defect is myopia.
It can be defined is as follows.
The eye defect in which a person cannot see objects beyond near point or far objects but can see the near objects clearly is called Myopia.
The point of maximum distance at which the eye lens can form an image on the retina is called ' far point '
This defect can be corrected by using biconvex lens.
Given distance of far point (D) = 2m
Let f be the focal length of eye lens.
Image distance ( distance between eye lens and retina ) for our human eye is always constant and is about 2.5 cm.
This is due to the action of ciliary muscles.
applying lens formula, we get
f = -D
= -2 cm.
but , the power of a lens is reciprocal of focal length.
hence. Power = 1/f. ( f in meters )
= 1/-2
= - 0.5 dioptre.

- Cover mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing with a tissue.
- Cough or sneeze into your sleeve when a tissues is unavailable.
- Dispose of used tissues properly.
- Wash hands regularly and thoroughly.
For employees at work places, hand sanitizers are an effective cleaning tool, killing 99.9% of most common germs. At workstations, regular cleaning of computer keyboards, phone handles, and desks also minimizes the risk of germ contamination.
