1.he would not describe the position of hydrogen 2 he arrange elements according to their atomic mass in increasing order but he place cobalt before Nickel where cobalt have high atomic mass as nickel

??Geetha Sree ?? 5 years, 11 months ago

1. His table didn't have a particular position to hydrogen. 2. He arranged elements named Cobalt and Nickel in a twisted manner. He kept cobalt (atomic mass - 58.93) before nickel ( atomic mass - 58.71). 3. Another problem was that the atomic masses do not increase in a regular manner in going from one element to the next. So it was not possible to predict how many elements could be discovered between two elements - especially when we consider the heavier elements.

Acquired traits are not inherited by the organism genetically but by environmental conditions present around the organism or the environmental conditions in which the organism lives. For example, Beetles will reduce in weight if not given enough food.

Whereas,

Inherited traits are those characteristics that an organism inherits from his/her parents i.e., passed on genetically through DNA. (Change in DNA). For example –Change of beetles in color from red to green.

The gap between the nerve endings of the first neuron and the dendrites of the second neuron is known as synapse. At the end of the axon, the electrical impulse sets off the release of some chemicals. These chemicals cross the synapse and start a similar electrical impulse in a dendrite of the next neuron.

Tanish Chimaniya 5 years, 11 months ago

There are various methods of contraception used. These include the following:

1) Mechanical methods of birth control are:

i) Male Condom

ii) Female Condom

Both of these prevent the sperm from meeting the egg.

iii) Intrauterine Device (IUD) – a T-shaped device placed inside the uterus (by a doctor) which blocks the sperms from entry into the fallopian tubes

iv) Intrauterine System (IUS) – a device similarly designed and administered as the IUD which releases hormones that thicken the cervical mucus thus blocking sperms from entry into the uterus

v) Diaphragm, Cervical Cap, and Shield – latex or silicon cap used with spermicides which blocks the entry of sperms into the cervix

vi) Sponge – a soft, disk-shaped device that a woman wets and inserts into the ******, and thus covering the cervix and blocking the sperms

3) Hormonal methods - Oral administration of small doses of either progestogens or progestogen-estrogen combinations is a method used by females in the form of pills. They can also be used by females as injections or implants under the skin.

This defect is myopia.
It can be defined is as follows.
The eye defect in which a person cannot see objects beyond near point or far objects but can see the near objects clearly is called Myopia.
The point of maximum distance at which the eye lens can form an image on the retina is called ' far point '
This defect can be corrected by using biconvex lens.

Given distance of far point (D) = 2m
Let f be the focal length of eye lens.
Image distance ( distance between eye lens and retina ) for our human eye is always constant and is about 2.5 cm.
This is due to the action of ciliary muscles.
applying lens formula, we get
f = -D
= -2 cm.
but , the power of a lens is reciprocal of focal length.
hence. Power = 1/f. ( f in meters )
= 1/-2
= - 0.5 dioptre.

Public cleanliness is important for maintaining public health. It helps in preventing a large number of deadly diseases which are quite common under unhygeinic conditions.

Public cleanliness should be practised everywhere inculding schools, workplaces, industries, home etc.

In addition to frequent hand washing, schools should instruct teachers to educate students on the following hygiene practices:

  • Cover mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing with a tissue.
  • Cough or sneeze into your sleeve when a tissues is unavailable.
  • Dispose of used tissues properly.
  • Wash hands regularly and thoroughly.

For employees at work places, hand sanitizers are an effective cleaning tool, killing 99.9% of most common germs. At workstations, regular cleaning of computer keyboards, phone handles, and desks also minimizes the risk of germ contamination.
