“Horace Danby was good and respectable − but not completely honest”. This description is apt for Horace because he was a fifty years old unmarried man who made locks to earn his living. Moreover, he is successful enough at his business to keep two helpers. He is a respectable fellow in the society. He is not completely honest because he robs a safe every year. He likes to collect rare and expensive books. He robs only once a year. He plans the robbery carefully. He intends to collect the amount of money which he may need to buy rare and expensive books. Though he has a good intention behind robbing, yet the fact that he stole to achieve this end shows that he is not completely honest.
He cannot be categorised as a typical thief because he doesn't have the habit of stealing things. He only steals the money that is enough to buy the books.

The goal of federalism is to preserve personal liberty by separating the powers of the government so that one government or group may not dominate all powers. The Framers believed that divided power was limited power and applied this theory as they created the Constitution. Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and George Washington were advocates of the federal system. In their attempt to balance order with liberty, the Founders identified several reasons for creating a federalist government: to avoid tyranny. to allow more participation in politics.

Many Congress leaders were reluctant to boycott the council elections scheduled for November 1920, and they feared that the movement might lead to popular violence.
In the months between September and December there was an intense tussle within the Congress. For a while there seemed no meeting point between the supporters and the opponents of the movement.
Finally, at the Congress Session at Nagpur in Dec. 1920, a compromise was worked out and the Non-cooperation programme was adopted.

A displacement reaction is the one wherein the atom or a set of atoms is displaced by another atom in a molecule. For instance, when Iron is added to a copper sulphate solution, it displaces the copper metal.

A + B-C → A-C + B

The above equation exists when A is more reactive than B.

A and B have to be either:

  • Halogens where C indicates a cation.
  • Different metals wherein C indicates an anion.

Corrosion is the process in which metals are eaten up gradually by the action of air, moisture or a chemical (such as an acid) on their surface. Rusting of iron metal is the most common form of corrosion. During the corrosion of iron, iron metal is oxidised by the oxygen of air in the presence of water (moisture) to form hydrated iron oxide called rust.

Majoritarianism refers to the rule of a group of majority,, such as the Sinhalas in Sri Lanka.   The Tamil people felt alienated because the government of Sri Lanka did not recognize their rights and criticized them. All the rights were only enjoyed by the Sinhala population. Thus, the political reforms made the Tamil speakers alienated. Itlead to civil war .this type of power sharing is not desirable.  The Sri Lankan Tamils felt that none of the major political parties led by the Buddhist Sinhala leaders were sensitive to their language and culture and denied them equal political rights which led to increased feeling of alienation among them.
