When aluminium is exposed to the air, this overactive metal promptly reacts with the atmospheric oxygen to form aluminium oxide, which is a sticky natured compound of the same colour.

Thus, the aluminium protects itself from any corrosion by the formation of a layer of aluminium oxide over the entire metal surface and thus, aluminium is termed as a self-protecting metal.

Let a is the first term of AP and d is the common difference

pth term = a + (p-1) d = q .................(1)

qth term = a + (q-1) d = p .................(2)

By subtracting eqn(2) from eqn(1), we get d = -1

if we subsititue d = -1 in eqn.(1), we get a = p+q-1

nth term = a+(n-1)d = (p+q-1) + (n-1)(-1) = p+q-n

(p+q)th term = a+(p+q-1)d = (p+q-1)+(p+q-1)(-1) = 0

To,

The Editor,

Delhi Times,

Respected Sir,

Hope that you are fine. With this letter, I would like to bring the attention of all to the water crisis that is hitting India and Delhi in specific. Over the period of time, the water table is coming down and we need to take action to save water.

Water plays a vital role in our daily lives and we use it for a wide variety of purposes. Water plays a big role in supporting our communities. Without water there would be no local business or industry or not even existence of human life.

It is extremely important that we save water. As a water saviour I took the initiative of installing automated faucets in my house. I am also promoting it in my family and community as it can save 60% of household water.

I hope you will communicate this concern via your newspaper.

Regards,

 Kartik / kavya

The Parliament of India can pass a law to amend the constitution and provide a Legislature with elected Members and a Chief Minister for a union territory, as it has done for Delhi and Puducherry. In general, the President of India appoints an administrator or lieutenant governor for each UT. In 1987, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram became states on 20 February, followed by Goa on 30 May, while erstwhile union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu's northern exclaves Damão and Diu became separate union territory as Daman and Diu. There are a total of 28 States in India as of May 2020. Q2. How many states and union territories are there in India? Ans.There are 28 states and 8 union territories in India at present.

The division of power between the Central and State Governments is done in a three fold distribution of legislative powers between the Union Government and the State Government. There are three lists i.e. Union List, State List and Conturrent List.
(i) Union List It includes subjects of national importance, e.g. defence of the country, foreign affairs, banking, communication and currency. The Central Government alone can make decisions on these matters. The aim of including these matters in Union List is to ensure uniformity in the policy of these areas throughout the country.
(ii) State List It contains subjects of state and local importance such as police, trade, commerce, agriculture and irrigation. The State Government alone can make laws and decisions on these areas.
(iii) Concurrent List It includes those subjects which are of common interest to both the Central as well as State Governments. It includes matters like education, forests, marriage and trade unions. Both the State and Central Government can make decision on these matters.

1. Resistance is the physical property of a substance because of which it opposes the flow of current i.e. electrons whereas resistivity is the physical property of a particular substance which is having particular dimensions.

2. Resistance is directly proportional to the length and temperature while it is inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area of the material whereas resistivity is only proportional to the nature and temperature of the particular material.

Kerala enjoys the highest indicators in these areas because it started at the highest level at Indepen-dence. In 1951, it had a literacy rate of 47% compared with 18% for India as a whole and 28% for Maharashtra, the closest rival among the large states.

  • The roots of Kerala's literacy can be traced back at least to the Hindu rulers of the 19th century.
  • The Queen of Trivandrum issued a royal decree in 1817 that said “ The state should defray the entire cost of the education of its people in order that there might be no backwardness in the spread of enlightenment.

1/2 is not an irrational number

Nikku Shekhawat 5 years, 6 months ago

To prove 1/√2 is irrational Let us assume that √2 is irrational  1/√2 = p/q (where p and q are co prime) q/p = √2 q     = √2p squaring both sides q²   = 2p²                                                  .....................(1) By theorem  q is divisible by 2 ∴ q = 2c ( where c is an integer)  putting the value of q in equitation 1 2p² = q² = 2c² =4c² p² =4c² /2 = 2c² p²/2 = c²  by theorem p is also divisible by 2 But p and q are coprime This is a contradiction which has arisen due to our wrong assumption ∴1/√2 is irrational

The Treaty of Vienna (Danish: Freden i Wien; German: Frieden von Wien) was a peace treaty signed on 30 October 1864 in Vienna between the Austrian Empire, the Kingdom of Prussia, and the Kingdom of Denmark. The treaty ended the Second War of Schleswig. Denmark ceded the Duchy of Schleswig (except for the island of Ærø, which remained Danish) the Duchy of Holstein and the Duchy of Lauenburg. They would be jointly governed by Prussia and Austria in a condominium. A subsequent treaty between Austria and Prussia on August 14, 1865 known as the Gastein Convention provided that Prussia would administer Schleswig and Austria would similarly govern Holstein. Austria also sold its rights to Lauenburg to Prussia. Disputes over the administration of Schleswig and Holstein would lead to the 1866 Austro-Prussian War.
