Let a , d and A , D be the first term and the common ratio of the first and the second AP respectively.

So [(n/2){2a+(n-1)d}]/[(n/2){2A+(n-1)D}]

=(7n-5)/(5n+17)={7(n-1)+2}/{5(n-1)+22}

So {2a+(n-1)d}/{2A+(n-1)D}

={2+7(n-1)}/{22+5(n-1)} =>

a=1, d=7, A =11, D = 5

6th term of 1st AP =a+5d=1+5×7=36

6th term of 2nd AP=A+5D=11+5×5=36

Condensation and evaporation both r the processes of water cycle . Condensation:it occurs when vapours cool down and changes into liquid. Evaporation:it occurs when liquid is heated nd changes into water vapours .

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 6 months ago

Evaporation

Condensation

By definition, evaporation is a process where water changes into vapour.

Condensation is the opposite process where water vapour is converted to tiny droplets of water.

Evaporation occurs before a liquid reaches its boiling point.

Condensation is a phase change regardless of the temperature.

In terms of molecular movement, when a liquid is heated or when pressure is decreased the forces of attraction between molecules is low. The liquid then evaporates to a gas.

When a gas is cooled or when the pressure is increased the forces of attraction between molecules become strong. The gas then condenses to either a liquid or even a solid.

Evaporation can occur in all surfaces, at all times and at all places. Evaporation is frequent when the air is dry, hot and windy.

Condensation takes place on salt, hygroscopic nuclei-pollen grains,carbon particles etc.when air temperature is decreased beyond the level of saturation.

Evaporation usually takes place in low altitudes.

Condensation happens mainly at higher altitudes.

When evaporation takes place energy is consumed.

In the process of condensation energy is released.

(i) In a democracy, power is also shared among different political parties, pressure groups and movements.
(ii) Democracy provides the citizens a choice to choose their rulers. This choice is provided by the various political parties, who contest elections to win them. Such competition ensures that power does not remain in one hand.
(iii) In the long run, power is shared among different political parties that represent different ideologies and social groups. Sometimes, this kind of sharing can be direct, when two or more parties form an alliance to contest elections. If their alliance is elected, they form a coalition government and thus, share power.
(iv) In a democracy, various pressure groups and movements also remain active. They also have a share in governmental power, either through participation in governmental committees or having influence on the decision making process.

Breaking down of glucose involves two processes. In the first step, it is broken into three carbon molecules called pyruvate. The pyruvate is further broken down into energy in following different ways in various organisms.
1) Aerobic respiration : In this case pyruvate is broken down into water and carbon dioxide along with release of energy. It commonly occurs in mitochondria of cells.
2) Anaerobic respiration in yeast : In yeast cells during fermentation pyruvate is converted into ethanol and CO2 in the absence of O2.
3) Anaeorbic respiration in muscles: Due to lack of oxygen, eg. during vigorous running or exercise, in human muscles, pyruvate is converted to lactic acid.

Reflection

Refraction

This phenomenon usually occurs in mirrors.

This phenomenon usually occurs in Lenses.

Reflection can simply be defined as the reflection of light when it strikes the medium on a plane.

Refraction can be defined as the process of shift of light when it passes through a medium leading to the bending of light.

The light entering the medium returns back in the same direction.

The light entering the medium travels from one medium to another.

Considering the light waves, they bounce from the plane and change direction.

The light waves pass through the surface while simultaneously change from medium to medium.

The angle of incidence of the light is equal to the angle of reflection.

The angle of incidence is not equal to the angle of reflection.
