The woman suffrage movement actually began in 1848, when a women’s rights convention was held in Seneca Falls, New York. The Seneca Falls meeting was not the first in support of women’s rights, but suffragists later viewed it as the meeting that launched the suffrage movement. For the next 50 years, woman suffrage supporters worked to educate the public about the validity of woman suffrage. Under the leadership of Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and other women’s rights pioneers, suffragists circulated petitions and lobbied Congress to pass a constitutional amendment to enfranchise women.

It takes place only in the presence of sunlight. It continues throughout day and night, in sun and darkness.
It occurs only in the green cells of the plant. It occurs in all the cells of an organism.
It is an endothermic reaction as it absorbs sunlight. It is an exothermic reaction, as it gives out energy.
It utilises carbon dioxide and water. It evolves carbon dioxide and water.
It builds up complex compounds such as carbohydrates from simple inorganic compounds. So, it is an anabolic process. It breaks complex substances into simple substances. So, it is a catbolic process.
It converts light energy into chemical energy. It releases potential or chemical energy which is used variously in the body.
Carbon dioxide and water are raw materials for photosynthesis. Sugars and oxygen are raw materials for respiration.
It produces ATP by harvesting light energy. It forms ATP from energy liberated during oxidation of food.
Hydrogen of water is used in the synthesis of NADPH. Hydrogen of food is used in the formation of NADP, NADPH and FADH2.
ATP and NADPH are used in the synthesis of organic compounds. ATP and reduced coenzymes are made available to cells for various metabolic activities.

  • Increase in Height: The most apparent change during puberty is the sudden increase in height. Long bones grow rapidly. Hence, the height of a person increases rapidly during this period. Initially, girls grow faster than boys but ultimately boys are usually taller than girls. The maximum height is attained by 18 years of age.
  • Change in Body Shape: The body of a boy becomes more muscular. His shoulders become wide and the waist becomes narrow. The body of a girl becomes wider below waist and narrower at the shoulder.
  • Voice Change: A boy’s voice becomes deep, and the childlike voice is first replaced by a hoarse voice. This happens because the voice is said to crack. Gradually, the voice becomes deep. The change in voice happens because voice box in a boy becomes larger. Girl’s voice is usually high pitched.
  • Increased Activity of Sweat and Sebaceous Glands: Secretion from sweat and sebaceous glands increases during adolescence. Due to this, some teenagers may suffer from acne and pimples.
  • Development of *** Organs: In boys, testes begin to produce sperms. Testis and ***** develop completely. In girls, ovaries enlarge and eggs begin to mature. Ovaries start releasing a mature egg.
  • Reaching Mental, Intellectual and Emotional Maturity: These changes also have a profound effect on a person’s way of thinking. Teenagers spend more time on thinking than earlier. Thus, many rapid changes in the body may create a sense of insecurity in most of the teenagers. But, teenagers should not worry because these are natural changes. They will definitely go away with time.

The availability of ions is very important to conduct electricity. Distilled water is a pure type of water which does not contain any ions in it. Whereas rainwater contains dissolved gasses such as SO2, CO2. These gases dissolve in water to form some kind of acids like carbonic acids which dissociates to give ions. Thus rainwater is conducting electricity while distilled water is not conducting electricity.
