everything has been lost due to covid19

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 8 months ago

Coronavirus or as we say Covid 19, has brought the world to its knees. Businesses have been shut, schools and colleges are closed, travel banned. The whole world is in a complete lockdown. But as they say challenges create opportunities. Covid-19 may have turned our lives upside down but it has certainly provided an opportunity for all of us to rise to the occasion during these testing times.

Firstly, Covid has given a huge lift to online learning both in the metros and non-metros. Online education, for instance, has got a major boost. Educational institutions, business organisations among others, have taken online education to a new level by offering classes, coaching and courses in an innovative way to keep their audience hooked at these times of lockdown. In India, students and professionals are signing up for online classes- from entrance exams like JEE and NEET or for upskilling, the demand has grown manifold.

Secondly, we have become more hygiene conscious. Yes, you heard it right. People have started taking personal hygiene more seriously. The ritual of washing hands, sanitizing things before use, that started as a compulsion is becoming a habit.

Work from Home (WFH) is the third major change that has become a part of our lives. Well, honestly speaking it was never a new concept. Many IT companies in the West and even in India has been practicising it with perfection. Covid 19 has taken it to another level with almost all companies asking its employees to WFH.

The culture has seeped into our living rooms with people especially, women, juggling between cooking, parenting and working at the same time!

Double Displacement Reaction:Reactions in which ions are exchanged between two reactants forming new compounds are called double displacement reactions.

AB + CD → AC + BD
Example: When solution of barium chloride reacts with the solution of sodium sulphate, white precipitate of barium sulphate is formed along with sodium chloride.

BaCl2 + Na2SO4 → BaSO4 + 2NaCl

The Frankfurt Parliament was called to discuss reforms and attempt to draft a constitution for a unified Germany. This was seen as the best way to stop the political unrest. The constitution was completed in March 1849: the German states were to be united as a German Empire headed by a German Emperor. This assembly drafted a constitution for a German nation to be headed by a monarchy subject to a parliament. However, it faced opposition from the aristocracy and military. Also, as it was dominated by the middle classes, it lost its mass support base. In the end, it was forced to disband on 31 May, 1849.

Nationalism is an ideology and movement that promotes the interests of a particular nation (as in a group of people)[1] especially with the aim of gaining and maintaining the nation's sovereignty (self-governance) over its homeland. Nationalism holds that each nation should govern itself, free from outside interference (self-determination), that a nation is a natural and ideal basis for a polity,[2] and that the nation is the only rightful source of political power (popular sovereignty).[1][3] It further aims to build and maintain a single national identity—based on shared social characteristics of culture, ethnicity, geographic location, language, politics (or the government), religion, traditions and belief in a shared singular history [4][5]—and to promote national unity or solidarity.[1] Nationalism, therefore, seeks to preserve and foster a nation's traditional cultures, and cultural revivals have been associated with nationalist movements.[6] It also encourages pride in national achievements, and is closely linked to patriotism.[7][page needed] Nationalism is often combined with other ideologies, such as conservatism (national conservatism) or socialism (socialist nationalism).[2]

‘Subject’ is a noun or pronoun that tells us what the sentence talks about and ‘verb’ represents the action in the sentence. Then what is ‘subject verb concord/agreement’? It means that the subject and verb in a sentence should agree or match, otherwise the sentence will not sound right.

 • Shortage of raw material: - As raw cotton was being exported to England, there was a shortage of raw materials. When the American Civil War broke out, and the cotton supplies from the United States were cut off. Britain turned to India. As raw cotton exports from India increased, the price of raw cotton shot up. Weavers in India were starved of supplies and forced to buy raw cotton at exorbitant prices.
 • Clashes with Gomasthas: - Gomasthas were appointed by the government to supervise weavers to collect supplies and examine the quality of cloth. The Gomasthas acted arrogantly and punished weavers for delays in supply. So the weavers dashed with them.
 • Collapse of the local and foreign market: - Due to industrialisation in Britain, their export market collapsed. As British traders started exporting machine-made clothes to India, so their local market shrank.

Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic:
Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic states that every composite number greater than 1 can be expressed or factorised as a unique product of prime numbers except in the order of the prime factors.

We can write the prime factorisation of a number in the form of powers of its prime factors.

By expressing any two numbers as their prime factors, their highest common factor (HCF) and lowest common multiple (LCM) can be easily calculated.

The HCF of two numbers is equal to the product of the terms containing the least powers of common prime factors of the two numbers.

The LCM of two numbers is equal to the product of the terms containing the greatest powers of all prime factors of the two numbers.

Self Help Groups (SHGs) are small groups of poor people. The members of an SHG face similar problems. They help each other, to solve their problems. SHGs promote small savings among their members. The savings are kept with the bank. This is the common fund in the name of the SHG. The SHG gives small loans to its members from its common fund. A reasonably educated and helpful local person has to initially help the poor people to form groups. He or She tells them about the benefits of thrift and the advantages of forming groups. This person is called an ‘animator’ or ‘facilitator’. Usually, the animator is a person who is already known to the community. Any of the following persons can be a successful animator: Retired school teacher or a retired government servant, who is well known locally. A health worker/a field officer/staff of a development agency or department of the State Government.
