Ragging is a practice in colleges, hostels and other educational institutes where the senior or an influential person tends to demoralize and defame the juniors through the means of verbal or physical abuse and harassment. The term ragging is more prominent in the countries of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. In other countries, the same practice has different terms associated with it.
There are some basic things that a college or a university can implement to prevent ragging from strengthening its root in the college.
- Employ a counselor
Many a times, students are not able to reveal their ordeal to their parents. However, they can open up about their sufferings to a counseling cell. The cell can also motivate students to be empathetic towards juniors and newcomers.
- Usage of CCTV footage
Each and every corner of the college must be under surveillance in order to keep a check on violent activities on the campus. When a senior knows that he is being captured on CCTV footage, it makes it difficult for him to rag a junior.
- Interactions between seniors and juniors
Promoting healthy interactions between seniors and juniors can create a positive environment. College can host various activities which help college students to break the ice.
- Punishments
Ragging happens when the culprit knows he cannot be touched. Until or unless the Anti-Ragging law is strictly imposed, such cases will keep on coming to the front.
- Anti-Ragging Squad in campus
A team of students, as well as teachers, can be formed in the college to fight the evil of ragging. The team should be representative in nature consisting of students from all backgrounds, grades, years, genders.

1 ) Metals with Water:
Equation :- Metal ( M ) + H₂O => MOH
Product Formed is Metal Hydroxide
2 ) Metals with Air or Oxygen:
Equation:- M + O₂ => MO₂
Product formed is Metal Oxides. They are generally basic in nature.
Oxides are of two types, Acidic Oxides and Basic Oxides.
Acidic Oxides give rise to acids when the oxides are mixed in water. Generally Non metals produce Acidic Oxides.
Basic Oxides on the other hand produce Bases when Basic Oxides are mixed with water. Generally Metals give Basic Oxides.
3 ) Metals with Acid:
Equation :- M + H⁺ ( from acid ) => Metal Salt + H₂

Sri Lanka has a diverse population. The Sinhalese community forms the majority of the population (74%) with Tamils (18%) who are mostly concentrated in the north and east of the island, forming the largest ethnic minority. Other communities include the Muslims. Among Tamils, there are two sub-groups. The Tamil natives of the country are called ‘Sri Lankan Tamils’ (13 %). The Tamils, who were brought as indentured labourers from India by British colonists to work on estate plantations are called the ‘Indian Origin Tamils’ (5%). Most of the Sinhala-speaking people are Buddhists, while most of the Tamils are Hindus or Muslims. There are about 7 per cent Christians, who are both Tamil and Sinhalese.

A point on the line segment divides it into two parts which may equal or not. The ratio in which the point divides the given line segment can be found if we know the coordinates of that point. Also, it is possible to find the point of division if we know the ratio in which the line segment joining two points has given. These two things can be achieved with the help of a section formula in coordinate geometry.
Section formula is used to determine the coordinate of a point that divides a line segment joining two points into two parts such that the ratio of their length is m:n.
Let P and Q be the given two points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) respectively, and M be the point dividing the line-segment PQ internally in the ratio m:n, then form the sectional formula for determining the coordinate of a point M is given by examole

Need for transport in human body:
1. Transport of food to all the parts and cells of our body helps our body to grow and develop.
2. Transport of oxygen to the cells of our body system helps in performing the respiration and also to perform all the functions of metabolism.
3. The waste and toxic materials that are produced by our body are transported to our kidney which helps in excretion of these wastes in the form of urine and faeces.

The new culture of power sharing developed after 1990 with the rise of regional parties in many states.
• The culture marked the beginning of coalition era.
• The Era of Coalition Government implies that if no single party gets a cfear cut majority in the Lok Sabha, then the major national parties enter into an alliance with many parties including regional parties to form a government at the centre.

India is a federal country. It has governments at both-central and the state levels.
- After Independence, there were only few parties which formed governments at the centre and at the state levels. When rival parties formed the Government at the state level, the Central Government tried to misuse its powers by dismissing the State Governments. This weakened the federal spirit of our constitution.
- However, the condition improved after 1990 when many regional parties emerged in different states.
- This also marked the beginning of the coalition government. Two or more parties formed the Government at the centre in the absence of a clear majority. This led to a new era of power sharing and respecting the independent working of the State Governments.

Other molecules (e.g. amino acids and tatty acids) are also obtained by animals this way. > Glucose has three main fates: immediate use to produce ATP molecules (available energy for work), storage for later ATP production, or for use in building other molecules. Storage as starch (in Plants) or glycogen (in animals).
