Recently, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 was announced by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (soon to be called the Ministry of Education). The policy is aimed at transforming the Indian education system to meet the needs of the 21st Century. The new policy seeks rectification of poor literacy and numeracy outcomes associated with primary schools, reduction in dropout levels in middle and secondary schools and adoption of the multi-disciplinary approach in the higher education system. Apart from this, the policy also focuses on early childhood care, restructuring curriculum and pedagogy; reforming assessments and exams, and investing in teacher training and broad-basing their appraisal. Though the NEP 2020 seeks to bring a holistic change in the education system of India, its success depends on the will and way in which it will be implemented.

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the New Education Policy and renamed the ministry of human resource and development as the ministry of education. The new policy would also see an overhaul of the system in place in higher education.

The new policy aims for universalisation of education from pre-school to secondary level with 100 per cent Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in school education by 2030 and aims to raise GER in higher education to 50 per cent by 2025.

  • NEP 2020 will bring two crore out of school children back into the main stream.
  • The 10+2 structure of school curricula is to be replaced by a 5+3+3+4 curricular structure corresponding to ages 3-8, 8-11, 11-14, and 14-18 years respectively. It will include 12 years of schooling and three years of Anganwadi and pre-schooling.
  • NCERT will develop a National Curricular and Pedagogical Framework for Early Childhood Care and Education (NCPFECCE) for children up to the age of eight.

Homo sapiens is the only extant species of hominin around today, but a few thousand years ago, there were a few other species that existed alongside anatomically modern humans – the Neanderthals, Denisovans and the Homo floresiensis. Today, scientists consider Neanderthals to be more of a subspecies of humans rather than a completely separate species.

The poet is talking about a little boy who has lost his ball. He was playing with his ball. The ball skipped from his hand and went into the nearby water body. The poet says that this sight of the boy losing his favorite ball made him think about the boy and his reaction to this situation. He further says that the boy was helplessly looking into the water where his ball had gone. He was sad and was trembling with fear. He got so immersed in his sorrow that he kept standing near the harbour for a very long time and kept on looking for his ball. The poet says that he could console him that he may get new balls or he could also give him some money to buy another ball. But he stops himself from doing so because he thinks that the money may bring a new ball but will not bring the memories and feelings attached to the lost ball. He further says that the time has come for the boy to learn his responsibilities. Here the poet wants to say that now the boy will learn the toughest lesson of life. The lesson of accepting the harsh realities of life that one day we will lose our loved ones and our loved things.

The path along which the unit North pole moves in a magnetic field is known as magnetic lines of force. (a) These magnetic lines of force are closed continuous curves. They start from the North pole and end on the South pole. No two magnetic lines of force can intersect each other. (b) The tangent at any point on the magnetic lines of force gives the direction of the magnetic field at that point. (c) Where the magnetic field is strong, the magnetic lines of force are crowded and where the field is weak, the magnetic lines of forces are far from each other.

Sunlight reaches Earth's atmosphere and is scattered in all directions by all the gases and particles in the air. Blue light is scattered more than the other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. This is why we see a blue sky most of the time.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 3 months ago

The sunlight that reaches the earth’s atmosphere is scattered in all directions by the gases and dust particles present in the atmosphere. The blue colour is scattered more and hence the sky appears blue. The reason for more scattering of blue colour is that the wavelength of the blue light is shorter than the other light. So blue light is scattered in all directions by the tiny molecules of air in Earth’s atmosphere. This the reason for the blue appearance of the sky.

The snowflakes started falling and this particular scene left a tremendous effect on the mood of the poet. It was a gloomy day for him. It was a wastage of time too. The change in natural happening brought up the desired change in the poet's mood. It delighted his heart.

Snowflakes had made his day and retrieved it from being wasted. He got enlistment in his spirits with the change in nature. Snowflakes are the main reason for changing the mood of the poet.

I have one doubt that is v=-10 or 10 because u = 20 mean u=object which go towards pole. So,u is +ve. Please clear my doubt.???

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 3 months ago

Behind the mirror (v = 10cm)

Explanation:

u = -20cm

f = 20cm

1/f = 1/v + 1/u

1/20 = 1/v + 1/(-20)

2/20 = 1/v

v= 10cm

As v is positive means it will form behind the mirror.

Mrs. Hall found the scientist eccentric because of his strange appearance and also when she tried to be friendly with him, he rebuffed her by saying that he had come there for solitude and did not wish to be disturbed in his work.

Griffin was an eccentric scientist who had come to Ping in a desire for solitude. He did not wish to be disturbed and moreover, he had come to the town at that time of winter when no one comes. Mrs Hall found him eccentric also because of his looks. He was overdressed with all parts of his body covered. He was wearing dark glasses, big bushy side whiskers and a large hat all the time, even at night. He could be helped to lead a normal life by guiding him patiently. He should be counselled to work for the welfare of society. The values of empathy, social responsibility, kindness, helpfulness, honesty to his profession, generosity can help Griffin to become a better person.

The modern periodic law states that the properties of the elements are a periodic function of their atomic numbers. As the properties of the elements are dependent upon the atomic number we can say that these are dependent upon the electronic configuration of the elements.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 3 months ago

Moseley gave the Modern Periodic Law which states that: Physical and chemical properties of the elements are the periodic function of their atomic numbers.

Atomic mass of an element is due to the mass of protons and neutrons present in the nucleus of its atom.

As the number of electrons in an atom are given by the atomic number and not by the mass number therefore, atomic number should form the basis of the classification of the elements in the periodic table and not atomic mass as predicted by Mendeleev.

A MNC is a Multi National Company.

It can be defined as a company that owns or controls production in more than one country.

These companies set up their offices wherever they get cheap labour.

By doing so the cost of production remains low and as a result, these companies can earn more profits.

Nematodes have a false body cavity and hence are called pseudocoelomate. Pseudocoelomate animals are also referred to as Blastocoelomate.

Pseudocoelmates are the animals whose body cavity is pseudocoelem i.e.their body is not lined by mesoderm, instead the mesoderm is present as scattered pouches in between the ectoderm and endoderm.
