In 1678, Huygens proposed that every point that a luminous disturbance meets turns into a source of the spherical wave itself. The sum of the secondary waves, which are the result of the disturbance, determines what form the new wave will take. This theory of light is known as the ‘Huygens’ Principle’.

When resistors are connected in parallel, the supply current is equal to the sum of the currents through each resistor. In other words, the currents in the branches of a parallel circuit add up to the supply current.
Also, they have the same potential difference across them. In other words, any components in parallel have the same potential difference across them. And, the total resistance will always be lesser than the least resistance in the circuit.
The total resistance is calculated as 1/RT= 1/R1+1/R2+ 1/R3.Thatis,R=RT−1.
In this case, the given resistance are of 1/5 ohms each. Therefore, the minimum resistance that can be obtained from the parallel connection of these five resistors is given as follows.
1/RT = 5/1+ 5/1 + 5/1 + 5/1 + 5/1 =25/1.Therefore,R= 1/25.
Hence, the minimum resistance which can be made using five resistors each of 1/5 ohms is 1/25 ohms.

If we consider poor democracies and all dictatorships for the fifty years between 1950 and 2000, dictatorships have higher rate of economic growth. The inability of democracy to achieve higher economic development is a matter of worry. When we compare record of dictatorial regimes with democracies in poor countries, then we find them in upper hands.

Learning a new skill is quite challenging. I vividly remember the challenges I had to face to learn to ride bicycle. My father could not afford me children’s bicycle, which has safety wheels on either side of the bicycle to keep you from falling. So I had to learn bicycling on my father’s bicycle. It was far to bigger than me; I had real difficulty controlling it. Since my height was very short, I could not mount the seat meant for riders, I just hung on it and ran along as it moved. I fell hundreds of times, injuring myself; but I never gave up.
Initially my cousins helped me balance it. thus slowly, gradually I learnt to maintain balance. Finally I succeeded in riding it. I was greatly thrilled to have ridden it without falling.

I remember that I faced a lot of difficulties in learning swimming. The Yamuna River flows near to my village and I had the fear of swimming. But the children of my age often went there to enjoy and play in the water. I too wanted to enjoy but was always taken aback due to my deep seated fears. However, one day I decided to go in the river in the presence of my uncle. He held me with his hands and I gave my first attempt in shallow waters. Slowly I started to move my hands and legs and gradually began to float in water. I repeated it again and again and within some days of rigorous practice, I gained a lot of confidence. Eventually, I overcame my fears and learned to swim confidently.

The standard form of a quadratic equation is ax2+bx+c=0, where a,b and c are real numbers and a≠0.
‘a’ is the coefficient of x2. It is called the quadratic coefficient. ‘b’ is the coefficient of x. It is called the linear coefficient. ‘c’ is the constant term.

Karyokinesis is defined as the division of the nucleus during the M phase of the cell cycle. It is the first step in M phase. In this process, the DNA condenses and the chromosomal material divides equally into two halves. This process occurs in four steps-peophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase.

Triangle trade allowed for Europe's economic development in many ways. Trade with Africa and the Americas allowed for increased access to raw goods and the growth of the shipping industry, which in turn led to additional jobs for Europeans. During the period 1500-1800 Asian commodities flooded into the West. As well as spices and tea, they included silks, cottons, porcelains and other luxury goods. The resulting currency drain encouraged Europeans to imitate the goods they so admired.

The leaves of touch-me-not plant (Mimosa pudica) folds up in response to touch. This information is traveled from cell to cell by electrical chemical means. Mimosa has pad like swellings called pulvini at the base of each leaf. The folding up of the leaves of a sensitive plant on touching is due to the sudden loss of water from the pulvini.
