Once there lived an old farmer in a village. He had four sons. They always quarreled among themselves. The father often advised them to mend their ways. But they did not listen to him.
One day, he fell seriously ill. He was on death bed. He called his sons to his bed-side. He wanted to teach them a lesson before his death.He asked them to bring a bundle of sticks. The bundle was brought. He asked them to break the bundle. Each of them tried his best. But no one could break the bundle.
The wise father now untied the bundle. He asked them to break one stick each. Now each of them broke his stick easily. The father said to them, “If you are united, nobody can harm you. If you quarrel, you will suffer.” These words worked magic. They promised to live in peace.
Moral : Union is strength. Or United we stand, divided we fall.

Let the positive square root be 'x'
The number is x^2
x^2 +x = 90
x^2+x-90=0
x^2 +10x-9x-90= 0
x(x+10)-9(x+10) =0
X=9, x=-10
x cannot be -10 because square root is positive number.
there x = 9
The number is 81.

Liberalism: Derived from Latin word 'liber'means 'free'.It meant differently to different people.
Middle class: For the new middle classes it stood for freedom of individual and equality of all before law.
Politically: It emphasized government by consent. There was to be an end to autocracy and clerical privileges. The right to vote was meant to be only for property-owning men. The lower classes were therefore not included. ln general, it stood for the inviolability of private property and freedom of the markets from state-imposed restrictions on the movement of goods.

Let the sides of the two squares be x cm and y cm where x > y.
Then, their areas are x2 and y2 and their perimeters are 4x and 4y.
By the given condition:
x2 + y2 = 400...(1)
and 4x - 4y = 16
4(x - y) = 16
x - y = 4
x = y + 4... (2)
Substituting the value of x from (2) in (1), we get:
(y + 4)2 + y2 = 400
y2 + 16 + 8y + y2 = 400
2y2 + 16 + 8y = 400
y2 + 4y - 192 = 0
y2 + 16y - 12y - 192 = 0
y(y + 16) - 12 (y + 16) = 0
(y + 16) (y - 12) = 0
y = -16 or y = 12
Since, y cannot be negative, y = 12.
So, x = y + 4 = 12 + 4 = 16
Thus, the sides of the two squares are 16 cm and 12 cm.

Determine if the points (1, 5), (2, 3) and (– 2, – 11) are collinear
<hr />Let the given points be A( 1, 5), B(2, 3) and C(-2, -11). Then

Here, we see that AB + BC ≠ AC, BC + AC ≠ AB and AB + AC ≠ BC.
Hence, the points A, B and C are not collinear.

German: In the 1800s, nationalist feelings were strong in the hearts of the middle-class Germans. They united in 1848 to create a nation-state out of the numerous German States. But the monarchy and the military got together to repress them and they gained support from the landowners of Prussia (the Junkers) too. Prussia soon became the leader of the German unification movement. Its Chief Minister Otto von Bismarck was the architect of the process with support from Prussian army and Prussian bureaucracy. The unification process was completed after Prussia won wars with Austria, Denmark, and France over seven years time. In January 1871, the Prussian king, William I, was proclaimed the German Emperor in a ceremony held at Versailles.

The fact is that the question paper revolves around the NCERT textbook and the concepts explained therein. Hence, in theory, the NCERT textbook should be more than enough. However, in practice, students have found that referring to a good reference book acts as an aid or supplement. For example, if you use a reference book in Mathematics, you get the advantage of going through a number of solved problems and also get a lot of unsolved problems for practice. In subjects such as Physics or Chemistry, some topics are explained in greater detail than the class X NCERT textbooks. You would definitely have referred to a number of such books when you were in the IX standard, and it does make sense to follow a uniform strategy in classes IX and X.
Toppers normally advise their classmates to make the NCERT textbook the main study material, and supplement their efforts with reference books. The reason for this is that the examination is based on NCERT books, and if you know your NCERT textbook well, you don’t need any supplementary material for the Class X boards. In short, study your NCERT textbook really well, and use reference books only as supplements.

- Economists suggest that the values of goods and services should be used rather than adding up the actual numbers. The value of goods and seivices in the three sectors are calculated and thep added up.
- Not every good (or service), that is produced and sold, needs to be counted. It makes sense only to include final goods and services.
For example: A farmer sells wheat to a flour mill for ? 8 per kg. The mill grinds the wheat and sells the flour to a biscuit company for ? 10 per kg. The biscuit company uses flour, sugar and oil to make the packets of biscuits. It sells biscuits in the market to the consumer for ? 15 per packet. Now, biscuits are the final goods, i.e., goods that reach the consumer. - Intermediate goods are used up in producing final goods and services. The value of final goods already includes the value of all the intermediate goods that are used in making the final goods.
So, the value of final goods and services produced in each sector during a particular year, provides the total production of the sector for that year. And the sum of production in three sectors gives us the ‘Gross.Domestic Product or GDP’.

R = ρ* L/A
R ∝ L And R ∝ 1/A
here, length is reduced to 1/5 times so resistance also reduced to 1/5 times
so, resistance is 20/5 Ω = 4 Ω
Again, Area is doubled so resistance get half.
so, New resistance is 4/2Ω = 2Ω

we need to expand formal sources of credit in india because:-
(1) There is no organisation which supervises the credit activities of lenders in the informal sector.
(2) There is no one to stop them from using unfair means to get their money back.
(3) Formal sources of credit are less risky and they charge less rate of interest .
(4) The RBI supervises the functioning of formal sourcesif loans.
