1. Political parties are the most visible instruments of bringing a change in a specific democratic country. Most of the ordinary citizens identify with popular political parties. For example- if we travel to the remote parts or villages of a country and speak to the less educated people, we would come to know that although they do not know anything about the government or the constitution they do identify with party symbols.  2. Political parties are crucial institutions of a democracy which perform a variety of functions in the smooth working of a country. They are composed of leaders, active members, and their followers.  3. Governments at various levels such as the national or state level are formed through the election process wherein different political parties compete to exercise political power.  4. Parties play a crucial role in putting forward their policies and programmes for the welfare of the general public.  5. Political parties are also involved in the process of decision making. Since most of the members of the legislature belong to different parties, they tend to influence decision making by going in the direction of the party leadership.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago

India has three cropping seasons — rabi, kharif and zaid.

  1. Rabi: Rabi crops are also known as winter crops. They are sown from October to December and harvested from April to June. Wheat, barley, pea, gram and mustard are the important rabi crops. Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhan and Uttar Pradesh are the important producers of rabi crops.
  2. Kharif: Kharif crops are also known as summer crops. They are sown at the beginning of monosoon and harvested in September-October. Paddy, maize, jowar, bajra, tur, moong, urad, cotton, jute, groundnut and soyabean are important kharif crops. Assam, West Bengal, coastal regions of Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are important rice growing states. In Assam, West Bengal and Orissa; three crops of paddy are grown in a year. These are called Aus, Aman and Boro.
  3. Zaid: The zaid season falls in between the rabi and kharif seasons. Watermelon, muskmelon, cucumber, vegetables and fodder crops are some of the crops grown in this season. Sugarcane is planted in this season but takes almost a year to grow.

Sunlight reaches Earth's atmosphere and is scattered in all directions by all the gases and particles in the air. Blue light is scattered more than the other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. This is why we see a blue sky most of the time

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago

The sunlight that reaches the earth’s atmosphere is scattered in all directions by the gases and dust particles present in the atmosphere. The blue colour is scattered more and hence the sky appears blue. The reason for more scattering of blue colour is that the wavelength of the blue light is shorter than the other light. So blue light is scattered in all directions by the tiny molecules of air in Earth’s atmosphere. This the reason for the blue appearance of the sky.

The public sector refers to all those occupations and economic activities which are owned and controlled by the government. The main aim is not only to earn profits but also to provide key services to the people at low costs

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 1 month ago

Role of government in public sector are as follows :
1) Develpoment of infrastructure- Development of infrastructure comprising transprot, power communication, basic industries, etc. is a pre condition of growth. These projects don't promise high profits thus private entrepreneurs don't undertake them.
2) Develpoment of backward areas- The goal of achieving a reduction in economic inequality between regions becomes easy to reach, if industries are setup in the backward areas. The govt. finds it necessary to start industrial production there.
3) Basic facilities- Providing health, education facilities for all is an example. Running proper schools providing quality education, particularly elementary education is the duty of govt.
4) Other problems- Malnourishment, high infant mortality rate, unsafe drinking water, lack of housing facilities etc need special attention. These problems can be only solved by the govt.
