Gases are compressible because the intermolecular space is very large in gases, whereas liquids are not compressible because in liquids, the intermolecular space is less.

Evaporation basically means the surface liquid gets enough kinetic energy to change into gaseous state. Definition: when the surface pressure of a liquid is equal to the vapour pressure of the atmosphere, it evaporates.
When we heat a liquid, we give it energy, n hence, the (kinetic) energy of the liquid increases, (so consequently the kinetic energy of the surface liquid also increases.

High compressibility is used in supplying oxygen cylinders to hospitals . Gases have large intermolecular spaces between them and can be easily compressed. The gases can be compressed to liquids and can be stored & transported in cylinders.

As pressure is increased the intermolecular forces between the gas molecules are increased. Explanation: Intermolecular forces are the forces of attraction between the molecules of a gas. As the pressure increases the molecules of the gas come closer together and finally form a liquid.

We can classify the cell on the basis of their nuclear membrane which is prokaryotic and eukaryotic and prokaryotic cell there is no nucleus and in eukaryotic cell that is a nucleus this is the major difference between prokaryotic cell and eukaryotic cell

Savita Singh 4 years, 7 months ago

Prokaryotic Cells: In some organisms like bacteria, the nuclear material is not enclosed by nuclear membrane and membrane bound cell organelle are absent.Such nucleus is called nucleotid and such cells are known as prokaryotic cell. such cells have single chromosome. Eukaryotic Cells: Cells having well defined nucleus and having membrane bound cell organelle is termed as eukaryotic cell.Such cells have more than one chromosomes.

Particles of matter are continuously moving. They possess kinetic energy. Aa the temperature increases, particles move faster. The particles of aroma diffuse in the air and reach to us several meters away. But to get smell of cold food we need to go closer because the particles of aroma move slowly.

Srishty Kumari 4 years, 7 months ago

At higher temperature molecules diffuse into air at a faster rate and reach longer distances. Hence, the smell of hot sizzling food reaches as quickly even when we are several metres away, but to get the smell of cold food,we have to go close to it.
