Education reforms: Building strong foundations

In an attempt to provide platform to educationists to chalk out a roadmap to bring much-needed reforms in the education system, a seminar ‘Education reforms: Building strong foundations’ was organized by the Times of India and PHD Chamber of Commerce in association with the BRC Institute, Chandigarh, on Tuesday.

In his inaugural address, UT administrator Shivraj V Patil stated that the first task was to make people understand the importance of education in life. “The right to education must be implemented fully,” he said. The seminar was divided into inaugural session and technical session and was attended by educationists representing government and private schools.

Addressing the participants, CBSE, region director, DR Yadav, stated that teachers should give priority to continuous comprehensive evaluation for overall development of the child.

The feedback on performance should be directly provided to children to make them have a better sense about their progress,” he stated.
