  9. The function keys are used to perform specific functions. Their functions differ from program to program. For example, the function of the F1 key in most programs is to get help on that program.

    1. Acknowledge the other person’s ideas, thoughts, or feedings.
    2. Paraphrase, the other person’s words to ensure understanding.
    3. Ask questions without judging.
    4. Summarize and classify what you hear.
    5. Offer your opinion if it is required.
  11. Self-confidence in simple language means believing in yourself. It is respecting yourself by believing in your own abilities, strengths, and judgments.
  12. The steps to create a new folder are as follows:
    1. Double-click the Computer icon.
    2. Choose/Select the drive in which you want to create a new folder. Say, Local Disk D.
    3. A window will open up showing files and folders in Local Disc D.
    4. Click New Folder on the toolbar.
  13. SECTION B: SUBJECTIVE TYPE QUESTIONS

  19. Information Technology had a major impact on entertainment industry. Importance of IT in entertainment defined in many ways as:
    1. In movies: Computers are widely used to create special effects in big budget movies. They are also extensively used behind the scenes to edit film during the production process. Movies are developed using computer graphics, animations etc.
    2. In games: Computer games is a quickly growing market. Computers have access to many peripheral devices such as keyboard, mouse, joystick and more. Computers are absolutely necessary for programming any sort of new video game.
    3. In animation: Animation can be used to make cartoons, animated movies etc. The computer can create outerspace, alien characters and so on without the need of creating their physical models.
  20. Before we actually start working on the RapidTyping software, it is good to learn about the basic rules that one should keep in mind in order to learn the touch typing skill in a proper manner. The following are some points that you should keep in mind while typing:
    1. The F, D, S, A and J, K, L, ; keys represent the base position on a QWERTY keyboard. Keyboards usually have small protrusions on the F and J keys. They help your fingers locate the base position without looking at the keyboard. Try to return your fingers to the base position after each keystroke.
    2. Color coding of the RapidTyping tutor keyboard shows which finger should press each key. The left index finger is reserved for all the red keys. The right index finger is reserved for green keys and so on. Use the thumb of whichever hand is more convenient for you to press space key.
    3. The base position on the numeric pad is the 5 number key for the middle finger, 4 for index finger and 6 for ring finger.
    4. Uppercase letters and symbols appearing on keys in the number row are typed by one hand with the little finger of the other hand holding down the shift key.
    5. Do not look the keyboard at the time of typing. Try to locate the right key with your fingers.
  21. Save the document with password to ensure the security and confidentiality of text.
    The steps to protect the document using password in Writer are:

    1. Select File {tex}\rightarrow{/tex} Save.
    2. Select the location on disk to save the file.
    3. Type a suitable name for the document.
    4. Click on the Save button.
    5. select a tick on the checkbox ‘Save with a password’.
    6. Type the password to open the file in Set password dialog box.
    7. Type the same password in the second box and click the OK button.
  22. The structure of an IT-BPM industry has been categorized in the following parameters:
    • Sector in which the organization is serving
    • Range of Services the company is offering
    • Geographic spread of the operations
    • Revenues and Size of operations

    Multinational Companies (MNCs): These are the companies that are registered and has facilities, assets and operations in more than one country at a time. Generally, the company has its headquarters in one country and operates in many countries.
    Indian Service Providers (ISPs): ISPs are only concerned with providing their services in India. These service providers have their headquarters in India while they have their offices in multiple countries.
    Global In-house Centers (GIC): Global In-house (GIC) are offshore centers that perform designated functions for their parent company. They only work for their parent company and do not serve external clients. GIC has a share of one-fifth of IT-BPM exports in India.

It is free to use and share with others, but only by using the original distribution package. It is efficient typing software that teaches typing through fun and interactive typing game.
