CBSE is conducting first Summative Assessment for classes 9 and 10 in September 2016. The exam for main subjects will be conducted from 14^th September 2016 onwards. Exams for all other subjects will be conducted by schools as per their convenience. CBSE will issue question papers for all major subjects and schools will have to use these papers only.

The evaluated answer sheets will be kept in the school. CBSE may ask to show them for random verification. CBSE will issue blue print and marking scheme with model answers for each question paper downloaded from CBSE website. Teachers will have to evaluate them strictly as per the marking scheme.

There will be total two summative and four formative assessments in an academic year. Each term will carry one summative and two formative assessments. The syllabus for both the term is divided clearly and no chapter will be overlapped in both the terms. Means, both the terms have different syllabus and the chapters evaluated in first term will not be evaluated in second term.
