The remainder when p(x) is divided by (x−a) is p(a)
Geven that,
p(x) = x4 − 3x2 + 2x + 5
Divisor = (x − 1)
So, Remainder = p(1)
= (1)4 − 3(1)2 + 2(1) + 5
= 1 − 3 + 2 + 5
= 5

x³ - 2x² - x + 2
=> x²(x - 2) - 1(x - 2)
=> (x - 2)(x² - 1)
=> (x - 2){(x)² - (1)²}
=> (x - 2)(x - 1)(x + 1)

Oxygen exists in the diatomic form in a gaseous state (O2). Therefore, for finding the molar mass of diatomic oxygen we should multiply the atomic mass (16) by two.
Molar mass of O2 = 16×2
= 32 g/mol
By using the above-mentioned formula, we can write,
Number of moles in 12 g oxygen gas = 12g32gmol−1
= 0.375 mol
Therefore, 12 g of oxygen gas has 0.375 moles.
