By azo dye test....aniline responds to this where as ethylamine does not

Prince Jaat 8 years ago

Ethylamine and aniline can be distinguished using the azo-dye test. A dye is obtained when aromatic amines react with image069 NCERT Solutions class-12 Chemistry Amines part 1at image070 NCERT Solutions class-12 Chemistry Amines part 1, followed by a reaction with the alkaline solution of 2-naphthol. The dye is usually yellow, red, or orange in colour. Aliphatic amines give a brisk effervescence due (to the evolution of image071 NCERT Solutions class-12 Chemistry Amines part 1gas) under similar conditions.

Generally six membered rings are the most stable rings. Chelating ligands generally form six or seven or five membered rings. Thus complex formed by chelating ligands are more stable as they tend to form rings.

Shruti Mangal 8 years ago
