Simon commission is one of the factors leading to the civil disobedience movement!
This commission was appointed in November, 1927
The Simon commission is named after Sir John Simon, who was the chairman of the commission.
The commission was appointed by the British Government to investigate the need for further constitutional reforms.
The commission had seven British members but no Indian members.
This was seen as a deliberate move to insult the self-respect of Indians
In 1927, the Congress decides to boycott the commission 'at every stage and in every form'.
Even the Muslim League agreed to boycott the commission.
Next year, an 'All India Hartal' was organized by the people. When the commission reached Mumbai, people greeted the commission with slogan "Simon Go Back".
during these protests and hartals...Lala Lajpat Rai was arrested and beaten up.
Finally, the commission was sent back with some suggestions and recommendations.

Globalisation has resulted in the trade of foreign commodities in domestic countries. Globalisation is the interconnection between counties through the expansion of foreign trade and foreign investment. It is the process of integrating the home country with foreign countries through the movement of goods, services, investment, technology and people.
With the growing globalisation, Chinese manufacturers are exporting Chinese toys to the Indian economy. In India, toys are sold at a high price. Because of this high price for toys, the Chinese manufacturers have started to export plastic toys to India. It will give a lot of opportunities and openings for domestic consumers to reach out beyond the domestic market. The consumers can choose between Indian and Chinese toys. Chinese toys have become more popular in the Indian markets due to its low price and attractive designs. Thus a large proportion of Indian toys have been substituted with much cheaper Chinese toys. This has also reduced the price of toys in the Indian market.
But the producers are at a loss because of the import of Chinese toys. Producers in India has to compete with the Chinese producers. Even though this greater competition has resulted in the improved standards of the products produced at a lower price, Indian producers are having a tough time competing in the market. The Chinese toys are far better in terms of cost of production and designs.
Thus the excessive import of toys has enabled the Indian buyers to have a wider choice at lower prices. The Chinese toy makers also acquire an opportunity to expand their production and profits. But the Indian producers face losses and many are shutting down their production.

Following were the three major problems faced by the peasants of Awadh during the days of the Non Co-operation Movement:
- In Awadh, the talukdars and landlords extracted very high rents and a variety of other cesses from the peasants.
- The peasants also had to do ‘begar’ labour for the landlords and work on their farms without any remuneration.
- There was no security of tenure and peasants were often evicted, in order to deny any opportunity for them to develop a right over the land they cultivated.

Most of these beliefs are fundamentally not true. People of one religion do not have the same interests and aspirations in most of the contexts. Every individual has his/her own choices, roles, positions and identities. There are many voices inside every community. All these voices have a right to be heard. Therefore, any attempt to bring all followers of one religion together in contexts other than religion is bound to suppress many voices within that community.

It is believed that people of the same religion must have same interest which is highly not true. There interest and demands depends on the society such as the social class they belong to etc

Cotton and metals were the most dynamic industries in Britain. During the first phase of industrialization.
At the end of the nineteenth century, less than 20% of total workforce was employed in technologically advanced industrial sectors. This shows that the traditional industry could not be displaced by the new industries.
The cotton or metal industries could not set the change of pace in the traditional industries. But the traditional industries experienced many changes which were brought by small and apparently ordinary innovations.
Machine-made goods were standardized and could not match the high quality finish of hand-made goods. The people from the upper classes preferred things produced by hand.

There is an urgent need to develop a sustainable path of energy development. The two broad measures to do it are:
1. Promotion of energy conservation: Economic development of any country is dependent on the availability of energy resources. All sectors including agriculture, transport, industry etc. require energy. Much of our sources of energy are conventional which have limited supply. So energy resources must be used judiciously.
2. Increased use of Renewable energy: Conventional sources of energy or fossil fuels are exhaustible and harmful to the environment. The rising prices and limited supply make them an unreliable source of energy in the long run. Therefore, countries should shift to renewable energy resources like solar and wind energy. As concerned citizens, we can take small steps:
1. Switching off electronic devices when not in use prevents unnecessary wastage of energy.
2. Taking public transport and engaging in activities like carpooling 3. Using non-conventional sources of energy like putting a solar panel.

El Dorado, formerly El Hombre Dorado or El Rey Dorado, was the phrase referred by the Spanish Empire to represent a mythical tribular head of the Muisca indigenous population in the Spanish imperial territory of Colombia.
The scene described in this classical artwork, which exhibits at the Gold Museum in Bogota, Colombia, shows the influence of the El Dorado legend. The myth speaks about the Muisca king who would defend himself in gold dust throughout festivals, then disappear from a boat into Lake Guatavita.
