एक बार एक नन्ना कछुआ अपने अंडे से निकलकर बाहर की दुनिया को देखने लगता है उसे नीला आसमान साथ में कौवा पक्षी उड़ते हुए दिखाई देते हैं सामने नीला पानी और रंग-बिरंगे फूल तथा हरी हरी घास दिखाई देती है मैं बाहर निकल कर देखता है उसे खूबसूरती खूबसूरती सुंदरता सुंदरता नजर आती है वहां पर उसकी मां होती है मां होने के कारण वह चुपचाप खामोश हो जाता है फिर से मां को ढूंढने के लिए अपनी नन्ही नन्ही पैरों से इधर-उधर भटकने लगता है वह इधर देखता है पत्थरों के चट्टानों के बीच में देखता है पर उसकी मां उसे कहीं नहीं दिखती है वह बहुत परेशान और चिंतित हो जाता है वह मामा पकाने लगता है। मां ना मिलने के कारण मैं अंडे के पास फिर से जाकर चुपचाप से बैठ जाता है इसका मतलब यह हुआ कि संसार में चाहे जितनी भी हरियाली सुंदरता हो परमा नहीं तो सारी सुंदरता फीकी नजर आती है मां है तो सब कुछ है।

बच्चों का मन हर पल नई-नई चीजों को जानने और सीखने के लिए उत्साहित रहता है। यही नई चीजें अगर उन्हें मजेदार तरीके से सिखाई जाएं, तो वो और भी आसानी से इन्हें सीख सकते हैं और इस काम में कहानियां आपकी मदद कर सकती हैं।ये कहानियां ही होती हैं, जो बच्चों की कल्पनाओं की दुनिया को खूबसूरत बनाने में मदद करती है। कहानियां न सिर्फ बच्चों के मनोरंजन का माध्यम है, बल्कि खेल-खेल में उनके जीवन को बेहतर बनाने का एक आसान तरीका भी हैं। एक छोटी-सी कहानी बच्चों के मन में कल्पनाओं के नए द्वार खोलती है और अंत में बताए गई सीख उन्हें बचपन से ही अच्छे-बुरे चीजों में फर्क करना सिखाती है। इतना ही नहीं बच्चों का मन बहुत चंचल होता है, हो सकता है लंबी कहानियां उन्हें अपनी ओर खींचने में असफल हो। यही वजह है कि हम कहानियां के इस सेक्शन में बच्चों के लिए लघु कहानियां लेकर आए हैं। शरारत करते बच्चों को शांत करना हो या रात को उन्हें गहरी नींद में सुलाना हो, लघुकथा अपना काम बखूबी करती है। ये लघु कथाएं न सिर्फ मजेदार हैं, बल्कि शिक्षाप्रद भी हैं। ये लघु कहानियां न सिर्फ छोटे बच्चों को खुश करेंगी, बल्कि बड़ों को भी उनके बचपन की यादें ताजा करने का मौका मिलेगा।
