Love is a feeling that exit in mutual relationship.. The story "bond of love" explained that fact very well and has projected that fact that one can reciprocate love emotions only if he or she receives love in return.. This is even true in case of other feelings to a great extent.

Sue and Johnsy ,two young artists, shared a small flat.Johnsy fell seriously ill in November. She had pneumonia.Sue ,her friend , got worried to see her lying restless on the bed, gazing out of the window.Even though the doctor visited everyday, there was no improvement in her condition. One day the doctor asked Sue if anything was bothering Johnsy because she was not responding to medicines. It seemed as if she had given up hope to get well.Sue tried her best to make her feel happy and start taking interest in her surroundings. But Johnsy was sad.She kept her gaze on the window only and started counting backwards.Sue heard her do this and anxiously looked out of the window. She saw an old ivy creeper climbing the wall opposite their window. The creeper was shedding its leaves in the strong wind outside. Johnsy was counting the leaves left on th creeper. Johnsy had made up her mind that with the fall of the last leaf , she will die.But Sue could not see any point in her belief as it was autumn and trees shed their leaves during this season.Sue tried hard to make her understand that there was no connection between her illness and the leaves. But Johnsy was sure that she will sleep forever once the ivy sheds its last leaf. She somehow manages to make her go to sleep and rushes to call Behrman ,who lived on the ground floor of the same building and was a painter too.She poured out her worries to Behrman. He also thinks that it is so foolish of Johnsy to think like that. They both then go to Johnsy's room and find her sleeping. The weather was getting bad. It was raining heavily and chilly wind was blowing. They went to the other room and saw that only the last leaf was left on the creeper. Behrman didn't say anything and went to his room.Next morning when Johnsy woke up ,she asked Sue to draw back the curtains so that she could see outside.Sue surprisingly tells Johnsy that there was still one leaf left ,all green and healthy.Johnsy could not believe as the wind was very strong the last night.Every now and then ,Johnsy checked if the leaf was still there. The same night ,again there was a storm but the leaf was still there. Now ,Johnsy was hopeful that she would get well soon. When she recovered completely,Sue disclosed that the last leaf that had helped her get better, was not the original one but a masterpiece ,which looked more than real, was drawn by Behrman. Behrman had drawn that leaf on the wall the same night without bothering about the rain or cold.He had died the next day of pneumonia I hope it will help ?✨?
The Last Leaf Summary This article provides information on the last leaf summary. The Last Leaf is a short story by O. Henry. It was published in 1907 in his collection The Trimmed Lamp and Other Stories. “The Last Leaf” is a story of Johnsy, a poor young woman who is critically ill due to pneumonia. She believes that when the ivy vine on the wall outside her window would lose all its leaves, she would die too. However, her neighbor, Behrman, an artist, tricks her by painting a leaf on the wall. Johnsy recovers. However, Behrman caught pneumonia while painting the leaf. As a result, he dies. This article contains the last leaf summary. It is all about the last leaf summary in short. The last leaf summary starts with two girls namely Sue and Johnsy lived together in a small flat. Both were artists. They resided on the third floor of an old house. Johnsy fell critically ill in November. She suffered from pneumonia and used to lie in her bed without moving. She continuously gazed out of the window. Sue, her friend, became very worried. She called the doctor. Although he came every day, yet Johnsy’s condition showed no improvement. The doctor confirmed that Johnsy was not willing to live. As a result, the medicines were ineffective to cure her ill-health. Sue tried her greatest to make Johnsy take an interest in things around her. She talked about clothes and fashion. However, Johnsy was irresponsive. She continued to lie still on her bed. Sue brought her drawing-board into the room and began to paint. Suddenly Sue heard Johnsy whispering something. She speedily rushed to the bed and heard Johnsy counting backward. She speedily rushed to the bed and heard Johnsy counting backward. Looking out of the window, she was saying, “Twelve!” However, after some time she whispered “eleven”, then “ten” and so on. She saw an old ivy creeper climbing half-way up the brick wall opposite to the window. Also, the creeper was shedding its leaves in the strong wind. Johnsy was very depressed. She created a thought that she would die when the last leaf fell. Moreover, she did not accept the soup offered to her. Later, in the last leaf summary, Sue tried to show affection towards Johnsy. Sue told her that she would not die. She kept the curtain open as she needed the light to complete her painting. She desired to fetch money for them by selling it. Sue pleaded Johnsy not to look out of the window. Also, she told Johnsy that she would not die. She has to live for her friends. Moreover, Sue would become lonely without Johnsy.  But Johnsy was sure that she would die as soon as the last leaf falls. She added that she would sleep after the last leaf falls and would sleep forever. Sue was very worried about her friend’s condition. She was helpless. Sue rushed to the ground floor to seek help from a 60-year-old painter. His name was Behrman. His lifelong dream was to paint a masterpiece. Unfortunately, it remained a dream only. Sue told the condition of his friend to Behrman. She refused to eat and continuously looked outside the window. She declares that she would not survive after the falling of the last leaf. He condemned Johnsy for being silly. However, he agrees to paint the last leaf for Johnsy so that she could recover. Johnsy woke up the next morning. To her surprise, the last leaf survived the storm and it was clinging to the creeper. It survived another storm in the evening too. This incident opened Johnsy’s eyes. She apologized to her friend for being so irresponsive and depressed. She realized that it was a sin to think of death. Then, she combed, had soup, and a desire to live. The doctor arrived. He told about the improvement in her health. He added that she would recover soon as her desire to live was back. Sue went to see Behrman. He was only two days ill. However, he dies of pneumonia contracted while being out in the wet and cold. Sue tells this news to Johnsy. She tells her to look at the last leaf clinging to the creeper. She reveals the truth that it was the masterpiece of the old artist, Behrman. He always wanted to produce a masterpiece painting but had never succeeded in his attempt to produce the same. However, to help her recover from her depression, he spent considerable time painting with great realism a leaf on the wall. Thus, he himself dies of pneumonia contracted while being out in the wet and cold.

According to me the theme of this story is that the life is precious and we should have faith in life always. When the last leaf became the scope of survival, then it is understood that life is precious. The other themes also include optimism, courage and hope. The minor theme of the story is to have importance of art in human beings.
Two Friends sue and johnsy lived together in a rented appartment . Johnsy comes in contact of pneumonia and loses her desire to live. She announces that se would die when last leaf fell of the ivy creeper that could be seen from rooms window . When last leaf falls off, their neighbour, Behrman goes out in storm to paint one. This gives hope to johnsy. On the other hand, Mr. Behrman comes in contact of pneumonia and dies This is summary according to me

Low concentrations initially may cause mild shortness of breath and cough; then, after a period of hours to days, victims may suffer bronchospasm and pulmonary edema. Inhalation of very high concentrations can rapidly cause burns, spasms, swelling of tissues in the throat, upper airway obstruction, and death.
