Anything in our surroundings which is made up of small particles and has space and mass is called Matter. Matter has two properties and the are Physical and Chemical property. And on the basis of Physical properties, matter is classified as solids, liquids and gases. And on the basis of Chemical Properties, matter is classified as elements, compounds and mixtures. Example: air and water, hydrogen and oxygen, sugar and sand, milk and oil, etc..
